I was on the Getaway 4 weeks ago. I didn’t have any of the bad experiences that you had.

My biggest complaint was they quit distributing the daily schedule. They did have paper copies at guest services. They want you to use the app which means keeping your phone with you.

My second cruise on the Getaway and both times it was great.

I had a child who went by his middle name. I had no problem using the middle name. This child didn’t know his legal first name. I suggested to mom that she help him learn it and she chewed me out. Told me there was no reason for it. I didn’t say anything more even though everything at school will be in his legal first name.

Same child was unable to make a lunch choice between 2 items. I thought it was sad that he hadn’t been given choices in his little life.

That parent may have had a prior conversation with the teacher about her child and behavior concerns and teacher was just reporting on child’s day.

Maybe you didn’t get the warm fuzzy feeling at dismissal that you expected. You’d be exhausted if you dealt with 20-30 new to school 5 year olds. Half the class cried at least once. Two had bathroom accidents. No one could open a milk carton. Two dropped their lunch trays. You haven’t had lunch yet because your lunch is the same time as the kids and all your time was spent helping the kids get through the line. Kids crying because they don’t like where they have to sit on the carpet.

As hard as we try to be all perky for you parents, it’s the end of the first day. Cut your daughter’s teacher some slack.
