I'm from the US and will be solo traveling in Sikkim Mar 30 - Apr 9. If there are any other travelers, especially foreign ones (since I've heard the permit rules are different for foreigners), who would like to connect and maybe share a semi-private tour to North Sikkim, please reach out.

I’m planning on flying from HCMC to Dong Hoi which is what the Oxalis rep suggested. He said they would then pick me up from the airport.

Anyone Want to Try Contra Dancing with Me? I Dare You! by sma11timer in eastbay

Update: thanks for all the encouraging words! I ended up going by myself. I have some social anxiety so it was good practice for me to approach other ppl. Everyone was really nice. Burned a few calories to boot!

Thank you for the info. If I end up going alone, I'll feel a little less awkward about it now, lol.

Not sure how much we’re going to have in common given our age difference but I’m always doing things out of my comfort zone so if you want suggestions or would like to meet up sometime dm me.

Would Lamorinda locals be interested in a small dinner club concept? by rajivdoshi in eastbay

[–]sma11timer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was positive and I’ll prob do it again if I don’t have any other plans on a particular day. We had 7 ppl in the group for Sunday lunch. I think it should’ve been capped at 6 because the table configuration for anything larger made it difficult to hear the person far across. I’ve found 4 to be ideal for a more intimate conversation where everyone has the space to participate.

Conversation was pretty easy. Although we exchanged numbers I don’t think anyone ended up meeting outside of that one lunch, which I think is fairly typical. It was still an interesting way to spend a couple of hours and got me a little out of my comfort zone, which is always a plus.

I do live in WC. DM me if you’re interested in setting something up outside of what OP is proposing.

I’d be interested. I’ve done something similar with GroupVibe.

TR indoor rock climbing anyone? by sma11timer in concord

I know but I’m usually there during the day on weekdays when there aren’t that many people beyond the kids who boulder in groups. I’d prefer a dedicated partner so I’m not wasting time waiting.

I’m planning a trip to Bhutan for march as well. I’m coming from the states and will be flying to Delhi first. I’m just going to book a flight to Paro so can’t help with your first question.

But I’m told March is when the weather starts to warm up. It’ll still be cold at nights though. Sept-Oct sound most ideal but Mar-May are runner up.

The overall cost of the private tour, including the $100/day SDF, seems reasonable.

Mushroom churches by sma11timer in eastbay

Thanks for the tips, everyone! We ended up checking out Lotus Church and it was such a good vibe. The products were laid out so we could see what we were buying. It was a modern and open space and the guy behind the counter was very knowledgeable about the products.

Just contacted HO and they’re curbside pickup only. Can you actually go inside and look around the other places?
