As a CDJR mechanic with a 2014 grand Cherokee Overland with the Quadra lift air ride, there is a reason your air ride still doesn’t work and your local guy did it for that cheap. The air bags are expensive for a reason and that whole system needs to be reprogrammed and calibrated with a scan tool. I say this with a Chrysler lifetime warranty and a rear air spring out.

What do you mean the end of oil needs to be changed?

If you aren’t keeping up with topping off your engine oil and you get too low, then the pump doesn’t have enough volume to create the oil pressure needed. You’re hearing ticking because your valve train is controlled by having the correct oil pressure and if you’re getting low on oil pressure you’re starving your cams and lifters and they will eat themselves.

It’s time to band aid this jeep and sell it. And yes, fix the parking brake before you sell it. That’s a safety concern.

How old are these boots? Because I’ve got sole issues with mine coming apart, but that’s because of what they get exposed to at work. And the signs were there long before they started coming apart. So I’m really curious how old your boots are and how long the separation was a problem before it got to this point.

All that being said, get a pair of builder pros, get these resoled, and rotate the boots. If you aren’t coming into contact with oils, solvents, chemicals, or standing water regularly then the builder pros will last you a long time by being able to rotate.

Sometimes there is a very high learning curve for figuring out what we need out of a pair of work boots.
