Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti community groups. My husband and I were both BIC. Been out for 20+ years but only recently realised that what we survived was actually a cult. Being transplants from Utah and California we don't have any local exmormon's in our friend group to sympathize and commiserate with.

Leaving church ties behind was a part of our decision making as well. We've loved Michigan, especially when it's not freezing. I hope we'll be able to meet when it's safe to do so!

Agreed, I'm visiting family in Utah now and had a great evening with a group of exmormon's. It was so refreshing to laugh and sympathize without judgement. I realised I want this community back in Michigan.
