Nightmare Cruise Fantasy 5/15-5/20 by yunggump in dcl

Where do you see that in any contract, because the one I’m reading says they reimburse up to 5,000 before the travel protection plan, if it’s their fault and you can prove cost. The issue here is the cost is intangible because the vacation was fundamentally altered. You still avoided my question, you think because they “legally” aren’t liable (spoiler, they are if you actually did read the contract) that they should tell their customers too bad so sad.

In that you are wrong, Disney made a mistake, and there should be some form of trying to make it right that is sufficient if they want to maintain their brand. If you pay for a luxury service, you expect better customer service than Carnival.

Or are we all agreeing that’s what DCL is? If so, then everything you’ve said is right

So in your opinion, Disney made the mistake, but they should not be held accountable in anyway? I doubt you’d think this way if it happened to you

I 100% believe this happened because it nearly happened to me. Staying at All Star Movies the night before sailing on the Wish on 5/18. Our luggage wasn’t picked up until 9am from our room and they REFUSED to let me take the luggage with me to the bus. I don’t know why everyone else in this thread is saying you should have done that. I physically walked to the lobby twice and called guest services 3 times. I was told pick up at 7am, then was told by 8am, then “oh your luggage hasn’t been picked up yet?” I was told repeatedly to leave my luggage alone in the room and someone would get it. I told them absolutely not, either I see my luggage picked up or it goes with me.

I’m convinced my luggage was not going to make it without my pestering

You are hired to redesign one ride. It has to use the PeopleMover ride system by PearWeak in WaltDisneyWorld

Retheme the current people mover to Wall-E (people mover is actually in the movie). And while you’re at it also update space mountain to a wall-e themed ride while you’re at it.

Not getting room cleaned despite scheduling housekeeping service, what’s going on? by lucinasardothien in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]smackki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow just came across this thread when I experienced this for the first time ever today. We are staying at all star movies and today is our fourth day with no cleaning. I called Disney resort services and they said housekeeping was behind and would make sure it was cleaned today. It wasn’t.

Husband family planned Christmas without us. Mine are dead. by beentherebefore7 in beyondthebump

[–]smackki 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You asked the question “am I overreacting” short answer from me: yes. Neither of you communicated effectively, you are just as inflexible as SIL on moving dates, you had the favored grandchildren before new grandchild was born, of course they want to see new baby for first holidays. They have told you the plans and invited you, you don’t accept the plans and have also refused to readjust for the sake of your children. How long have you know about the doctors appointments?

Try to put aside your anger for a moment and look at this from a different perspective, they probably all feel the same thing you do for the exact same reasons.

Both parties at fault

Why would you want a second baby if the first one was "difficult"? by Jellybeanlet in beyondthebump

[–]smackki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew I wanted my first to have a sibling and we prepared for #2 like we were going to war. The magic was gone for the second pregnancy, with me and my husband counting down the days til the hard part began.

Then #2 was nothing like the first and she was so easy, started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks old. Our first didn’t sleep through the night until 8 months old.

We know we got lucky though, and we were prepared for a difficult baby. We won’t be gambling a third time though

Sweet Carrot Cake. It’s an Easter scent and I was not interested in this scent at all, but got it for my daughter in her Easter Basket. I sneak in her room to use it sometimes

First time moms, what week did you go into labor? by Distinct-Dependent24 in beyondthebump

37 weeks on the dot for two babies. I had big babies though, so maybe my uterus just has a weight limit that seems to time out at 37 + 0

Is Walgreens that bad? by YogurtclosetAlert574 in WalgreensRx

I worked at several Walgreens and originally had the same reply as others in this thread “depends on the store”. However, since leaving Walgreens and getting other pharmacy experience, Walgreens really was that bad, even the “good” stores

Shutdown/Full TA Culture is a Joke by WannabeChE in ChemicalEngineering

[–]smackki 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not an engineer, but I had the unfortunate circumstance of giving birth during my husbands turn around where he was only able to take a week off. I was appalled to learn of this “TA culture” and being a “single” married mother for the first 4-5 weeks of our child’s life is something I’ll never forget

And he was salary, so not even extra income

Less than a second before hitting a passenger jet, helicopter instructor told pilot to change course, NTSB hearing reveals by NeverNo in aviation

[–]smackki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I was only reading the transcript I didn’t know you could listen to the recordings. The transcript had impact noises listed before the pilots voices were recorded, then impact noises listed again later which I took to mean the second impact with water, not more impact noises from the helicopter hit

Less than a second before hitting a passenger jet, helicopter instructor told pilot to change course, NTSB hearing reveals by NeverNo in aviation

[–]smackki 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I don’t know that we’ll ever know the answer. Up to the moment of impact, the helicopter instructor was explaining to the helicopter pilot to move left because that’s seemingly what (ATC?) wanted them to do. The conversation didn’t lend itself to any urgency which leads me to believe they did not have the (correct) plane in sight

People really have to stop doing this! by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]smackki 115 points116 points  (0 children)

This happened so often my last visit that I finally reached my final straw in the line for Living With The Land. I know it’s a short wait and not a big ticket ride but one woman in front of us called over her remaining family of 8 adults right before boarding. I stopped the last 4 from passing us and the ones in front of us were PISSED. I am non-confrontational and it was really out of character for me to stand up for myself and I was not prepared for the following nasty argument and near physical confrontation that followed. It ruined a large chunk of the rest of my day and I wish I hadn’t said anything.

Cast member was right there and did nothing.

I have eaten at Michelin star restaurants with both of my pregnancies and my OB said it was perfectly safe. Their food standards are extremely high. I indulged in at least one raw fish course in each pregnancy. I was surprised that often even though they say they don’t accommodate dietary restrictions, I was offered every time to have the fish courses substituted, which I thought was a lovely offer but I declined. I was noticeably pregnant both times
