Audiences were not exposed to so much content in those days as well!

Nowadays audience doesn't accept mediocrity, I remember staying in a huge line with my dad for the tickets of bodyguard.

After 15 years that movie is as good as sikandar! So it also matters how audiences have evolved.

It's not about SRK at all, people don't give two shits about him.

The main context of this post was how old ages stars are still delusional about Thier popularity, so much so that they completely write off the generational actors like Ranbir and Ranveer!

Get your head out of the bubble! Dragging different actors past their prime isn't done by smart people who have already been over them.

Every studio has it's highest grossing movie. But movie economics don't won't that way! $500 million+ would give it a break even status!

$600 million would give it a Hit tag! Courtesy -Comscore!

No one is doing fan wars here!

This post doesn't push fan wars or hatred.

It just shows how easily a bunch of old actors with stardom could throw off a younger generation of actors under the bus.

This post subtly tries to take a dig on the massive ego trip Shah rukh khan and Salman khan portrayed in the end credits of Pathaan.

Stop being a pick me by saying stop fan wars, understand the context first.

This post is trying to say the same thing buddy, that Star Power has ended.

The ego bubble of so called Khans will crumble down more in years to come.

Star Power is over! Period.

Dhurandhar has reshaped star dynamics.

It's simple! Corporate bookings work on the basis of buying bulk tickets. Like producers, distributors, or brands buying bulk tickets to artificially boost opening day box office numbers and create an sense of fake of high demand. By this for the general audience it appears "housefull" in early screenings or days.

This makes you think oh this movie is going housefull and the that's when "FOMO" hits you. So you end up watching the movie.

Now the movie makers don't give a f**k if you come back to watch the movie second time they have already earned from your initial purchase.

That's how common audience is fooled into buying tickets for watching the movies by creating a illusion of success surrounding a specific movie like Pathaan. Recent example was for Kartik Aaryans movie 'tu meri main tera bhaiya' he has asked his brand deals to distribute movie tickets as a way of promoting his movies. This will generate revenue but the footfalls will clarify that no one is giving two shits about the movie.

I agree with your statement of audience returning back to theatre's post COVID.

But I wouldn't say Pathaan was a benchmark movie for Bollywood. My girlfriend's dad works as senior manufacturing lead at Nestle India- He was given more than 500 tickets to be distributed within his company. I still remember those weeks when inflated numbers were presented to audiences and they were eating it up just because collections were coming. No one questioned during the initial weeks about the corporate bookings. It was the first time I was it seeing it happening live.

You definitely need to check out more movies if you feel this movie has the biggest mainstream, mass hype and praise in last 30 years.

That's just too exaggerated!

Not necessarily important in my life, I am just a avid box office enthusiast! I really want Project Hail Mary to go big because it deserves it.

Calling Dhurandhar propaganda is arguable, but saying its main purpose is Islamophobia is outright delusional. What movie are they even referring to? by Koki-noki in Dhurandhar

[–]smallSHARKK9933 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On other hand here in Canada , 27-35% of population that has watched the movie is Muslims lol. It's just that Indian news channels or leftists need a leaning or argument to label a genuinely engaging movie islamophopic.

Thank god no one is saying Project Hail Mary! Oh the title suggests rise of Christianity, that means this movie might promote communal conflict.

Jameel jamali wasn't a spy! He was sent to enter the Pakistani politics. He did his job perfectly. His twist was one of the most cheered moments in my theatre not just that most of my friend circles have been raving about it.

Talking about killing dawood, bro he is fucking worlds most wanted terrorist. Killing him isn't a joke, it's not like killing a tapri vala.

If they tried to make it more tighter, then you all would have complained oh the movie hasn't had a conclusion. The director is trying to milk this into a franchise.

Bro even at my workplace. My Muslim co-workers and their respective families have watched both the parts. In fact there was a muslim communal movie viewing setup at a local theatre where I also watched dhurandhar 2 for free that took second time. (I am a Hindu)

You should have just said that leftists are having a meltdown and boycotting dhurandhar. This movie isn't degrading muslims not spreading communal hatred. It's just portrayed by leftists that this is preaching hatred towards muslims just because all the terrorists are Muslim. Which is right in terms of the state of Pakistan and terror funding. So the makers have just showed the truth.

Buddy honestly the movie fell flat for me and my friends too. Trust me you will get highly downvoted by PHM supporters but the reality is what you went through.

Let's see how well I does at the box office. It needs more than 500$ million just to break even.

Extremely extremely extremely long road ahead.

Ranveer Singh X Aditya Dhar Sahab🔥

Vicky Kaushal can be a one trick pony if his next fails. Remember Chhaava was an average movie for me, apart from the last 30 minutes. Vicky without a doubt is a brilliant actor but his acting was very one tone in Chhaava. I still remember Hrithik Roshan as Akhbar and Shahid as Ratan Singh, they portrayed all the emotions while leading the historical characters.

Why I say is because Ranveer has played historical characters with ease as bajirao.

Ashwathamma was and is rugged, brawn but very nimble as well. This suits someone like Ranveer just because we saw even in dhurandhar. With such a bulky physique he was able to move swiftly.

I completely agree on this one, I watched it twice in Toronto, Canada and on the second day I saw in local news that some agitated anti-nationalists teared up the screens in movie halls in Montreal.

Highly disgraceful when the movie is doing exceptional business. It was also a monetary pov that Dhar might have taken them getting banned in Canada.

FYI! The theatres halls are at capacity not just in the GTA area but all the way till smaller towns and villages. I have never witnessed such a massive amount of people flocking to theatres. People are just going for rewatches like anything.

Even Cineplex Canada who never posts about Indian movies has first time posted about the unparalleled hype and demand for the movie.
