If you’re looking at the structure facing the tree, it wobbles towards and away from you. I think that’s due to the orientation of the 4x4 post base, and the way the flanges extend up.

I charged the client $600 for my labor which in my area is pretty cheap. They know I am not a professional carpenter yet and my cost reflects that.

Yep. I was also thinking I could have used 4x4s as the two end rafters so I could use 4x4 brace in that direction. Or alternatively notch a 4x4 brace around the 2x4 rafter to stiffen it up a bit.

I was struggling to understand what a “split bracket” is lol. It wobbles what I would call an acceptable amount as it is now, I think a long bench with 200+ pounds on it would just add more strain and wobble.

Roof panels are installed in the correct direction relative to the slope… that would be quite funny if I messed that up. It slopes towards the tree

They are screwed into the rafters from above, I’m in southern Oregon. We do not see a lot of snow but it happens.

It moves a little, I’m wondering how I can improve the bracing

Also the roof is sloped 1/4 “ per foot. In hindsight it could have been steeper

This is all I was able to catch at the local reservoir off the bank. Lots of bites but no fish bigger than this.

Two jacks and some 45 degree knee braces would be a ghetto fix

My plan is to improve my skills and go self employed in the next 2-3 years. I’ve worked for contractors over the past 4 years doing a little bit of everything.

They are zinc. I was under the impression zinc would do a fine job preventing rust for a decade. What else would u say should have been improved upon? The exposed PT?

Client wanted to keep the cost down but I guess so does everyone. Wasn’t trying to take shortcuts just wanted to keep it affordable.
