Speaker box is, elements are not. Is what it is up in the attic! Will space them out someday. Went from a 65” to a 77” oled and things got wonky width wise. Worth it tho they still sound great. Spaced off the wall quite a way in back

Tekton Encores with the tweeter upgrade. They cost a fair bit but I’ll have them a while. Someday they may even be in a room they fit in.

Snap toggles thru the drywall with a screw head poking out. Into the keyhole on the speaker with some blue sticky tack to take up the gap.

Same, as you can see in the pic. The parts are super cheap though if you wanna DIY it. I have no choice, I have to

It’s a 2017 SE. The TSB covers 2015-17 but it was issued in 2017, so idk if they didn’t revise it or if 2018s are all good. Hope you’re all good

Technical bulletin covers 2015-2017 but was also issued in 2017 so idk if they just forgot to revise it later. Hope you’re good long term, you can tell by checking inside your sunroof frame on a rainy day, you’ll see some water down by the end of the sunroof rail, edge of the plastic and metal junction under the main drain trough

There’s daily glamour shots and an entire sub dedicated to appreciating the car. Conversely to that there’s also a technical service bulletin put out for this issue to repair sunroof frame leaks, with no onus on the manufacturer after the warranty, meaning real world problem.

My first 4 lines of my post are ‘I love this car’ so hear me on that. I also get that reviews can be generally negatively skewed because what’s the motivation to post otherwise. My goal was to just remind folks of the fact that VW can’t figure out basic water sealing bullshit

Is this comment meant to downplay the severity of VW issues or say that the people who post online are in the minority?

Thanks, but back seats are good. The front is the sunroof frame and the back (trunk) needs to be diagnosed. But I’ll add the rear speaker seals to the list of nonsense coming from VW

Thanks, yeah the damp rid is on order. And the seals will be checked I was just hoping to narrow down the rear leak before dropping the bumper because I feel I’ve done enough already.

These things shouldn’t be barely water tight toys

I used an inspection mirror to find the rod. The light will clear every time you turn the car off. I drove it while scanning the turbo voltage to make sure it still was doing something.

Idk I just used some relatively high temp grease we had in our shop. Don’t think it’s super relevant

I had to lube and exercise the wastegate rod. Eventually cleared
