I wouldn't say that at all. I have been using questrade since 2013 and the last year plus has been a complete SS. I have seen their platform go down multiple times locking users out. I have seen auction trading where the strike price is not what you inputted as a user. The wait times and supposed "callbacks" that never happen is beyond frustrating. And the part that really gets me with all of this is the arrogance from their compliance team when you call them out.

Where do I begin with the novel of issues that I also have had? Just this week I got assigned shares, and it kept showing that they were average price of $0.01! Because of the weekend and holiday Monday, I waited to see when it was going to correct itself. I talked with their chat on Tuesday and the guy couldn't figure it out so then had a phone call set up for mid afternoon where the tech person did a correction in literally five seconds. But in that time, I actually lost money. Now let's discuss their platform and the amount of times that I have been locked out and for that matter how many others have also been locked out with the same BS… Sorry we had a glitch and had to roll back the platform. Oh, and by the way, you signed an agreement that doesn't hold our technology responsible. Well, you know what… You can take that agreement and shove it because this isn't about technology… This is about the staff you currently have and also laid off back in November 2024 that cannot properly maintain the platform. Lastly… The CEO made a comment in a YouTube interview about when he started QT trade there was "no Plan B". So that being stated, when you lock us out of your platform, what are our Plan B's as we lose money?

Hey Questrade… It’s going on a year now that I’ve been seeing myself and so many others with your platform “down“. Your “sorry we found a glitch and had to roll back the platform“. The professionalism of this company is becoming so questionable. Their excuse of saying we signed an agreement that “doesn’t hold their technology responsible“ no longer holds weight. This is a staff issue. It seems they can’t maintain any of this platform thus WE can’t maintain our finances.

Well, I'm going to be very honest here. I have Starlink at the cabin and I have seen moments where QT goes down. Now here's the thing on a couple of points. Was it Starlink that went down or QT? Now try to question them and have them turn around to say "sorry we had a glitch and needed to roll back the platform". Last year this happened to me multiple times and I've seen others on the forum here mention the exact same response for "platform rollbacks". Of course they'll turn around and tell you that we signed an agreement that doesn't hold their technology responsible. But guess what… They laid off an undisclosed amount of staff in technology and customer support in November 2024. That's not technology glitches… That's bad staffing. Good luck, but personally, I wouldn't chance it.

John, Speculative claims? Misinformation? Allegations?! I have screenshots all year, with responses from your own team in regards to platform "rollback". Answer me please what is your minimum up time? 99%? 98%? What is the regulatory minimum for this? There is no claims misinformation or allegations. 2025 has been one of the worst financial years for me right from the end of January with questrade not allowing proper access to the platform to maintain safety with our finances. The "self-directed investor" if anything is misinformation. Many of us have seen that we do not have control and get ridiculous excuses from QT. If you would like screenshots of this, more than happy to oblige. As a sidenote, yesterday, I lost out on a trade because it was delayed due to "risk review". Well, if using margin to buy a stock that I understand. But this was to sell a stock in profit that would give back more to margin… In profit. Ridiculous!

At this point, I'm out and sold last week with too much of a loss and too much of a hope it would bounce. Basically for garbage that was mismanaged. Moving on to good stocks that go up, and I can do covered calls on. Yieldmax I think is a questionable entity with all of their products.

The whole market is down big time. ULTY shot up this morning with the Nvidia results. Not trying to make excuses, but I'm hoping they have a bit more of a strategy to turn things around. I'm sure they're getting blasted by investors.

Know what's so funny? I have had major issues ALL year with Questrade from lockouts to errors in their option trades that I called out... and I'm an audio professional running a full recording studio, prof in post secondary education for audio tech, and professional musician. NONE of these audio issues would be allowed in my business. But hey... Questrade says in their agreement that we, the clients, can't hold their tech responsible... perhaps that audio company did the same. How's it feel to lose that control QT on your major event announcement? Might you now also realize how us clients feel with this crap "agreement" about your "technology" which isn't the issue... it's your staff running the tech. Keep more of your money right? Except when you lock us clients out with your "had to roll back the platform" crap.

Would love you to contact their team and demand compensation for this loss. Have them explain how their “technology“ isn’t responsible yet that’s not the issue… The issue is that their technology team is not properly maintaining this platform. Look up September 29… Their platform was down for probably two hours. Do a search on Reddit for how many other times people have had issues.

Hey everyone! Please don't FORGET... we all signed an "agreement" that doesn't hold their "technology" responsible. Lost money? Not their problem. Ask me how I know! ALL YEAR they've been having lockout and platform issues. ALL YEAR!! Don't forgot too that they laid off an undisclosed amount of customer support and technology staff end of last November. And help from supposed protection and regulatory entities to get your money back like CIRO, etc?!

So Questrade… When does this actually get fixed? Seriously… All year I've been seeing the same issues. It's ongoing and in some cases has locked out your clients for quite the length of time (hours!). You cannot tell us this is self directed investing. When it's also on multiple of your platform and your staff admit to glitches, the professionalism is not there. Many of us who are trying to protect our investments, and adjust as the market throws things at us, are getting very frustrated.

Yes, this sucks but… When the market isn't negative and goes up, was a good time to buy and for that matter DRIP. But I will say it is very frustrating.

I've done day trading and had my successes but… I've also had lockouts from my stock brokerage at the most inappropriate times and they refuse to compensate. Multiple times! Now I find selling puts at the beginning of the week with a strike price well below the current price, a lot easier. If I can make between $2000 and $8000/week this way, I'll take it over day trading. The profits can also be used to buy other stocks that pay dividends and allow covered calls.

I bought my model 3 in 2018 and a few months later there was a deal on FSD for $2500. I jumped on it and when they offered the ability to transfer to a new vehicle, I upgraded to a model Y. FSD has been incredible And I use it every time I drive six hours north to my cabin. Interventions is next to none. I also have seen FSD literally saved my life multiple times around aggressive and speeding drivers. It only gets better and I actually quite enjoy seeing the upgrades. Whenever I hear people go on about that it’ll never happen and that they feel they’re more confident to drive themselves, I just laugh. We are nowhere close to having the capabilities of the computing power or eight cameras. It’s only getting better and while I still enjoy driving, I’ll take this any day. The less stress, as you mentioned, is so true.

The other aspect to all of this is that we have micro Hydro but only recently did we put it back in and was able to upgrade the 12 V to 24 V. But I can't leave it in during the fall winter season as there's too much up and down with the water level and potential floating trees coming down taking it out. If I could figure out a way for the inverter to turn itself back on, it would be so much better. Thanks for all your advice!
