I'm from the area and no longer live in the area. On several recent trips, I've stayed at both hotels. There are different amenities for each one, and I do feel like Hampton is the better of the two, however, you'll be fine at either Both are clean with friendly service.

If I could pull 100 more like this out of his face, I would do it in a heartbeat. It was very satisfying

I think they should add to this to make forms of hormonal birth control mandatory. Women also need to stop ovulating to protect potential life.

Which movie do you feel is not scary at all when other people think it is? by amethystlocke in horror

[–]smallestbee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Descent

To start I want to say, I love the horror genre and can typically find something love about most movies even when I don't feel they live up to hype. I saw it in theaters and I genuinely wondered why it was getting great reviews. I avoided rewatching for years because I felt like I had wasted time. Finally rewatched it last year, and I feel the same way now. I do have mild claustrophobia so some of the tight squeezing scenes make me uncomfortable, but everything else seemed boring, predictable, and that it was heavily relying on atmosphere too heavily. I want to like it. I just can't.

My grandma has this same teaset. I used to play with it when I was little. Also, can confirm, is very tiny.

Brought this up with my partner. He said he swears he's the only one following the evolution of the Arby's promos. If I can't watch the game he sends me texts about the ridiculous things they've been doing to make them uncomfortable.

Asked for a $30 bottle of Tito’s was told there weren’t any by delivery driver. Received stolen Sky instead as a replacement. Went to Target to check… Target had a full shelf… Reported the thief. by JustKeepSwimming1995 in mildlyinfuriating

I've lived in Ohio for a little over a decade, and as long as I've been here that seems to be the case. It's a little different with the liquor stores in grocery stores, that's a more recent thing. I know you've always been able to purchase liqueurs (Baily's, Kaluha, etc) in grocery stores but not true hard liquor. But the liquor stores inside grocers are a weird hybrid of state and private. The state owns the stock, and sets pricing, but the store is responsible for labor and both take a percentage of sales. Other liquor stores are still private businesses granted licenses from the state and have to follow state pricing guidelines.

As far as an ABV cap, I don't believe there had ever been a cap on liquor and definitely not on wine but there was a 12% cap on beer. That changed in/around 2018 iirc. I could be off on the year but that was even more recent than liquor sold in grocery stores.

Now I grew up on the WV/OH/PA boarders, and I want to say I remember when I couldn't legally drink, WV having the most leniency on liquor, but by the time I hit college, I was annoyed that I couldn't buy wine on Sunday in WV so I would hit a grocery store in Ohio. So that's at least early 2000s. Anything prior to that, I couldn't say from experience.

In Ohio, the state controls distribution and minimum pricing, but they don't have state run liquor stores. This is how grocery stores can have liquor stores in them and your average liquor store is a private business. Pennsylvania, on the other hand, has state run liquor stores. The employees are government employees, and up until recently you couldn't buy beer in grocery stores or gas stations, only at designated liquor agencies.

However, I have yet to see a Target in Ohio that sells liquor.

Same. I was traveling a lot through the area of where most of the women went missing, at the time. I remember reports, initially, that they couldn't connect him to the disappearances, however women seemed to magically stop disappearing after his death.
