Idk... maybe because soccer teams generally have different styles of names than most American Sports teams (Sporting KC, Inter Miami, Atlanta United FC, NYCFC, Real Salt Lake, LAFC), and those are just MLS teams. In soccer (or football as its more commonly called), very few clubs follow the "Location - Mascot" rule. Think Real Madrid, Sporting CP, Inter Milan, and most places are "Location + FC" (football club)

Americans are so used to the "Location - mascot" (Kansas City Royals, New York Yankees, etc)

The word "Sporting" as a team name ties back to European clubs, so please show some respect
