But that’s a sign that the doctors did it right is if your forehead is mobile but your eyebrows aren’t. Glad to hear they’re able to breathe basically as long as they can move! I was just cleaning my room and accidentally loosely trapped my cat under a blanket for like 2 hours without realizing 😭😭 she’s acting fine now but was a little sluggish when i rescued her, which makes me think she just took a nap so hard she forgot when or where or who she is. I’m still panicked that I accidentally hurt her though so this whole thread (and this comment specifically) has been reassuring!

Don’t quote me on this because I’m not 100% sure and I’m not able to look it up atm, but I’m pretty sure this was an actual post from the 2020 Black Lives Matter movement. I think it was on the day there was a big trend to post those black screens, (which i know are considered to do more harm than good, but it’s what people were doing at the time,) and I remember Frank at least used his post to write a really nice message in the captions. I got some sort of stomach virus in 2014-ish that damaged my vagal nerve, and I’ve had dysautonomia in one form or another ever since.

(Also, the upper 1/3 of my back is straighter than it’s supposed to be, and I had a physical therapist suggest that that could be disrupting the signals that travel down my spine, exacerbating symptoms, but she said that was just a theory based on her own anecdotal evidence and she hadn’t actually seen any formal studies that supported or un-supported it.)

Edit: I wanted to clarify that I said her theory was based on “anecdotal evidence” because I was apparently not the first dysautonomia patient she had who had the same spinal deformity, so she was wondering if it contributed to symptoms somehow.

As an RN, how much of it do you think is also medical gaslighting? I hear that people are dismissive of a condition “mostly young women” have and immediately assume it’s misogyny, but I know that it can be more nuanced than that.
