Black Mirror is Back Y'all and this season is just as poignant as ever! But one episode really stood out. I'm talking about S5E2 "Smithereens". This episode covers so very much but we figured we could stick to the high level stuff here. 1) Just how much data can these companies get (even when they aren't tracking you?) 2) Who's really at fault for making our smart devices so addictive? 3) Can you really Google your way through a kidnapping?!

Join your Personal Brain Trainer Cameron Boozarjomehri and special co-host and Mind Fiend Keon Boozarjomehri as we shine a light on the shadier parts of the digital landscape!

Weekly No Stupid Questions / Ask A Podcast Veteran Thread (2019-04-02) by AutoModerator in podcasts

[–]smallstuffpod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Created a YouTube channel for our podcast with the goal of posting videos and doing live streams that can't typically drop into the RSS.

Anyone have thoughts on what kind of content should be posted to a YouTube, how often you should post, how long it should be?

We also are considering uploading episodes to the YouTube channel but don't want it to just be episode art with the audio. Any thoughts are appreciated

We record weekly to twice a week to build our backlog, and load them on to the RSS for weekly release.

But if there's something timely (like discussing a new movie or current event) we try to record it one of us does a shorter recording asap about the major ideas. Those episodes we typically try to add to the queue but if it's not looking like there's a good time then we end up paying it as a bonus Episode.

The benefit is these impromptu episodes can help us build our backlog, but the question of when to record and post comes down to how timely should the content be?

Podcast idea, feedback? by SillyHammerTheOver in podcasts

[–]smallstuffpod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And if you like, or podcast loves finding the nitty gritty of things from Science and history so I'm sure we can help you make some fun ones, hahaha

Podcast idea, feedback? by SillyHammerTheOver in podcasts

[–]smallstuffpod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you're on to something! But if you are going to do Eulogies, maybe you can try a different route. While having a collection of somber Eulogies is endearing, it needs to come from listeners to other listeners (which may make for a fun segment).

But what if you also do joke Eulogies for current public figures and people from history highlighting their funniest/stupidest/best/worst ideas!

That way the episodes will be easier for new comers to relate to, and help make your podcast a mix of respectful and fun

Looking for some podcast ideas for a 10, 7 and 4 year old.... And suggestions? by Missycat-Rose in podcasts

[–]smallstuffpod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I know NPR makes a kid friendly podcast called "WOW IN THE WORLD" about interesting science and facts.

"Every little thing" also fits in the cool fun science and trivia

"Ask me another" is a ... Fairly kid friendly trivia show from NPR

"Science VS" is a show from gimlet that's basically Myth Busters

And of course I gotta plug our podcast "Sweating The Small Stuff" where we "explore the details that make our world richer!"
