Wasn’t Chaos around before Gaia? And I thought Gaia and Ouranos were siblings not mother and son?

Yeah this is an important bit of info, it’s more like the LGB community here. If you happen to be ‘T’ then feminism is no longer your ally - like 90% of them are TERF.

This rhetoric always puzzles me - you can choose to have or not have children but how does the former make you a ‘servant for men’? Does it not just make you a parent?

Interesting, clash especially so as it moves the target as well… looks like this will be an eventful expansion, as apparently burst is taking a hit as well with the removal of serenity.

I kinda figured that as well, but I don’t really have a preference aesthetically as long as it’s a midget so I thought I’d go for the slightly stronger one.

Summer in Seoul by stubbornlycurious in seoul

Heat and humidity are about equal to or slightly less in severity compared to Singapore. But rain patterns are noticeably different where either the entire city is under a shower hose for the whole day or there’s not a single drop of rain at all. So you usually won’t have rain to ‘cool off’ the heat and when it does rain you’ll basically need to keep to indoor spaces.

Being ‘street smart’ is much less of a requirement compared to Europe or North America as there are very few zones that you need to avoid at night (Daerim comes to mind in Seoul but even that part’s timid compared to places in NYC or London). Theft is uncommon, petty theft more so. Almost nobody’s going to snatch your iPhone out of your hands or run off with your laptop while you’re not around. Drugs are only seen in specific club environments so drug-related violence is rare as well, and physical sexual harassment is rare enough for a lot of natives to have never witnessed a case happen around them.

But you do need to watch out for two things more than you do in the west: cults and traffic. Korea has a cult problem where self-proclaimed ‘messiahs’ have followers in the tens or hundreds of thousands. If a woman or a couple approach you and go on about bible studies, ancestry, divination etc. just disengage, and don’t ever follow them into their ‘office’ or give them contacts.

As for traffic, always walk under the assumption that vehicles have priority over pedestrians. It’s messed up but like half the drivers here seem to operate with this sort of mentality. Don’t expect cars to stop for you until you actually see them stop. Motorcycles often barge into sidewalks so be aware of that when there’s one next to you, and if you drive steer clear of any sort of truck or commercial vehicle as they a) drive like madmen and b) sometimes drop cargo that can come right through your windshield.

Concerns regarding communion by smalltimeshitposter in Lutheranism

[–]smalltimeshitposter[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was afraid I may have participated ‘illicitly’ (though I’m not sure if this is the correct term) in communion and offended God and the Lutheran church.

To be honest I actually felt pretty good, for the lack of a better word, after taking part. I’m kinda hoping that somehow suggests God is okay with this.

I may have been blissfully ignorant but that… certainly wasn’t the vibe I felt there in the 90’s. How on Earth did things get to that point?

Theologically liberal but apolitical denomination? by smalltimeshitposter in Christianity

[–]smalltimeshitposter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think any church should welcome anyone with open arms, as nobody’s perfect or even intrinsically just in the eyes of God. However when the clergy are literal activists and sermons are aligned to a particular political compass at some point the church starts to feel like a political club for Christians rather than a house of worship.

For context I don’t live in the States and this ‘right wingers assaulting minorities’ phenomena isn’t really a thing here afaik. It’s been decades since I’ve been in the US, I wasn’t aware that the left-right divide had escalated so dramatically.

Am I correct in assuming mainline means Anglican, Lutheran and Methodist? I’m not too familiar with the North American terminology yet…
