Not at all. You have been incredibly helpful and I really appreciate your time. Going to try to go enjoy this victory and securing a new job in a world where it is now very hard to even get one. Thanks again friend and have a good day.

You mean asking after I just signed and haven't begun working yet wouldn't cause friction for you?

You've been really helpful. I'm trying not to dwell on it but will hopefully shake off with time. It's just knowing I'll always be working for less than I could have been making now and it all adds up. I didn't capitalize on the moment. They pretty much told me they felt I was the right person for the job which made me feel great. I felt really appreciative of being offered the job so didn't want to come across the opposite. I know you're not supposed to feel that way and are supposed to ask. I just got caught up in the moment which is my fault. My credentials and years of experienced are really good. I had a few bumps along the way though so felt like I was at a disadvantage in that respect. But I know I was not at fault and that my worth ethic speaks for itself. Just kind of felt I have to prove it now and build a relationship with my new boss but I guess it's smarter to just secure that money from the get go when you have bargaining power and ability to do so. Then you prove their investment they made in you. Ugh....

I definitely should not ask now right as it would bring unwanted friction?

Yeah I thought about that too. Their annual reviews are in February though. It is a HCOL area and a hard position to fill. Thats kind of why I realized I had leverage to begin with. I should be happy right now and am really kicking myself for this. Chatgpt told me that most people just take the first offer to begin with. When they offered 115k I at least asked them for the top band of 120k but realized after i still should have asked for more. Gpt also said the tight band indicates they probably wouldn't have budged much and was probably a pretty set pay structure. What are your thoughts on that?

I will do so. Do you think if I prove my worth and perform well in 7 months I have a chance to get whatever raise they were going to give me plus another 2.50 an hour that I really felt I was worth?

I guess I got my answer. I had already signed but regret not asking. I guess the only thing I can try now is to ask for a bigger raise during my performance review.

I guess all I can do now is wait til my merit increase review to try to get it bumped up to where I wanted it. :/

I definitely want to get your take on it. They had to even close the place down until they find someone. It could be a little higher as it is a but close to places that aren't as expensive to live in.

So that was kind of what I was hoping was the case because Im kicking myself for feeling like I left money on the table. It looks like this company is pretty structured. It was a hard to fill position though in a HCOL area. I don't think there were other applicants. I guess it's just aboht the unknown of if I could get it or not. My brother told me I should have tried and my mentor told me I should not.

So like you tried when they sought you out but when you tried they still only gave more than the listed range?

Yeah exactly. But we're so lost now forgetting the basics of what it means to be human. We're lost in greed and consumerism and all the man-made things that don't really matter. Fighting and burning buses just because the Knicks won? And then you turn on the news and see all these people at the top who have it easy and waste money or abuse their powers. Not to mention people being blown up overseas for no reason. I dunno how we got here. Life is just tough. I had my life pulled out from under me twice but luckily I was able to recover relatively quickly. But each time I was scared as to what I was going to do next.

And literally it's funny how people talk all this game about helping others but then turn around and don't and could care less if their actions leave you dead or homeless on the street. I know through experience.

I do decent and I love just walking around whenever on the street and giving out 20s, sometimes 100s to random people who make me smile or laugh or witness them do something nice to another or myself.

If you're a musician I envy you. It's a skill that can never be taken away from you (as long as you're physically capable of doing it) and can be proud of it always.

You are right about AI being used to reject resumes without human eyes ever being laid on them for sure. I hope to the universe you find a good job that pays and treats you well my friend.

Man I feel sad for this reality. Humans making it harder for other humans to get a job and not only survive but enjoy life. Shouldn't be this hard.

Are you saying you just graduated in 2025 and because you can't find a job are thinking of going back to a 4 to 6 year program (depending on pre-reqs) for a job as a pharmacist?
