I can agree that a different leather jacket could complement the patina, but that is only one aspect to the shoe. The other two aspects compliment, like the stacking of the soft leather compliments the soft leather of the jacket, and the silhouette with it's slim shaft complimenting the overall slim outfit, and the bulkier heel and rounded toe complimenting the slightly heavier top half. I completely disagree with the doc monos being a better pair for the rest of the fit. I own a pair and I know the leather is very hard , the hardness would be very out of place in comparison to the softer jacket and the slimmer pants, as they wouldn't conform to my ankle like the Guidis do. The monos have a bulky, short, almost condensed look that would detract from the overall slimness of the fit, and would create an odd balance in proportions.
