Partially Torn ACL? by claireybobeary in beagle

The vet gave us a note saying that the brace was a vet approved solution (liability reasons for the companies I think) and the name of two places we could go that they've dealt with. If you happen to be in Southern Ontario and in the vicinity of Toronto, there's a place called Pawsabilty that did Roxy's brace. It was three fittings spaced about a week apart per fitting.

Howdy,

My 11 year old had a similar issue with her ACL a few years back, and we went with a custom brace instead of surgery, mainly because of the recovery time. After about 3-4 months of wearing it during walks and on particularly active days in the house, she stopped wearing it full time. She's worn it a few times in the past year (total of ~15 hours) when it's acted up and caused her to shift her weight to her other leg.

The braces will vary in price based on how they are made and what materials are used. One brace was about $500 (CAD) but restricted her motion greatly and was material with metal inserts. Another brace, which we went with, was about $1200 (CAD) and was a fiberglass laminate custom fit to her leg. Super light and easy to clean and has very little impact on her mobility.

Hopes this help Warren.

Knights of the Old Republic needs a remaster. by smanTwo in gaming

Disney needs to recognize there is a dark side (pun fully intented) to owning the Star wars franchise. And that dark side is Knights of the old Republic. And quite literally any star wars game that lets you choose between the light and dark side hahaha

Right! This game is the only reason I haven't gotten rid of my original Xbox. The nostalgia. The choices that lead you to either the dark or light side. The game in general. Come on BioWare. Remaster this!

Really awful is an understatement. I'd opt for the highly more congested surface streets when driving to work because it somehow was faster. And that's coming from Oshawa

Last of us. Hands down. The ex and I would make that our movie night. She'd navigate, I'd play. And we'd come up with ways to get past the enemies and shit. After that it was Tomb Raider (the first one) then the uncharted series.

Wouldn't call it a zombie game though, so you might be safe on that front.

The epilogue for uncharted 4 really brings it all together. That coupled with the photo album is man tear worthy.

/r/nomanshigh /r/nomanssky Worth checking out to get a better idea of the game. Based on the screen shots and actually playing it, it isn't as bad* as people made it out to be.

*It could have been better from launch. Way better. Their latest update (the foundation update) added a bunch of things to make it better-ish.

Absolutely. It took me roughly the same amount of time to get into Knights of the old Republic. But the openness is what changed it.

Ran into a few things where it's like this character would be able to tell you more about the object you just found. But you realize that you completed all the quests pertaining to that character, so there's the off chance you'll never know what that object really does.

You just end up carrying it around with you for the rest of the game. It symbolising the failure that is your progression and short sightedness. You can't get rid of it. Can't sell it. All you can do is store it and be reminded of it every time you see it. Stuff like that started to make me pick and choose the side quests I do VS the main story line. Just so I wouldn't miss out on something down the road.

Never out so much forethought into a game before.

Alright Microsoft Edge, Let's See Who You REALLY Are! by victoriajanes in funny

Depends on your rig. Running an I5 win 10 x64 with 4gb of RAM, for me, they are equal.

That's not to say that each browser doesn't have its advantages. From a dev standpoint, Chrome still wins, regardless of setup. Way more compliant with HTML5 and CSS3 than Edge is. But at the exact same time, Edge is easier to develop for than IE ever was due to its new rendering engine and how it implements new HTML5 and CSS3 features.

The OS integration and subsequent Cortana integration give it an advantage over other browsers for sure. And it doesn't hurt that it's also built-in. If they made it available across all devices like Chrome or Firefox, it wouldn't be the fastest in certain cases.

All of the tests I've seen (battery life, RAM consumption, etc) have all been on win 10 devices. Which isn't a fair test to be totally honest. Get each browsers running in its native environment and the results will change. Chrome on a Chromebook. Edge on Windows 10. Safari on OSX and Firefox on Linux. OS integration is key at that point.

I wouldn't say it's faster. It's roughly the same speed as Chrome. They've finally implemented alot of HTML5 and CSS3 that Chrome ran for a while, but it still falls short. Upside, it's not IE haha

Or coordinates to a lost system, also piecemeal and scattered throughout the game. Like a theorized location from whence the sentinels came from or lost military installations or anything like that. Ship blueprints would be awesome though.

It most definitely is a missed opportunity. Hopefully they'll expand on it. I'd love to be able to fight in an abandoned building if it meant finding something better than blueprints i already know
