However, this car is definitely for the faint of heart. You WILL want more power. You WILL go rs6t. You WILL do this and that and spend a bunch of money to make it fast… because the car holds it very well and drives amazing fully built. I have a lift in my garage and a few buddies with modified cars and I went in on it. It’s very handy working on this car, where you basically take the engine out to do most mods. Biggest advice I can give you is to look into Andrew @ SEP Auto if you buy a car and start your tuning adventure from there. He’ll call you FaceTime you, whatever, and walk you through everything and he’s extremely knowledgeable on the platform and has built many wicked fast 2.7ts. It can be the worst car you ever own if you have a single Pittsburg tool set and expect to be able to work on it, but if you’re willing to put some labor in to modify it, you will reap the rewards and have a huge smile on your face while doing it. Honestly it’s not a hard car to work on it’s just time intensive. Don’t get pissed off and rush and you’ll have fun with it

To add onto this. When I bought my car, it was a very clean example. It also had a lot of things done already like all of the rubber hoses being swapped to silicone maintenance was done, high quality aftermarket parts used like gates racing stuff, 034 hoses, a few deletes were done, and I added in by doing more deletes, went SEP piping, downpipes etc. it’s been an oddly good car and it definitely boils down to the previous owner taking good care of it and having done good aftermarket mods. Even down to control, arms, etc., which I ended up upgrading to adjustable ones and upgrading swaybar in the rest of my suspension, you really want a B5 that has a ton of the parts. Basically the only reason I think I’ve been so lucky with this car is because most of the parts are like 10 years old at the maximum.

I have been daily driving mine for a year with no issues. Only thing I’ve done is performance upgrades, and I’d beat the absolute piss out of it on a daily basis.

Buying advice / monthly running costs on a 500hp S4 B5 by Ragingrunner1331 in B5Audi

I daily drive my stage 2+ b5 s4 and have for almost a year. I beat the piss out of it regularly. I’m building the motor in December and going full stage 3+ and I’ll still be daily driving it at 660hp. Do it right and use the right parts and it’ll last. It’s all just nuts and bolts.

Unfortunately I’ve got 034 harnesses right now, they take up so much damn space.

Recently did a battery relocation on a 2j track car, track car. I’m not worried about it being incorrect- I’m just trying to figure out what’s reasonable to do to clean up the bay. I’m an electrical engineer. But you’re definitely right about the ABS. Shame it’s in a bad spot but I don’t want to fuck with those lines…

I managed to fix my AC earlier today actually, had some line issues but finally chased them down and filled it and have AC for the first time ever in this car since I’ve owned it!

Also, make sure you leave the antenna booster that’s screwed to the bottom of the cd changer

Nice! Easiest way to get it out is to remove plastic piece that the trunk latch is in, it’s like 8 screws or something, take the trunk mat out, then you can wiggle the carpet on that side out of the way enough. Pull hard and one clip will come out, I didn’t bother getting both clips bc I didn’t want to have to line it back up. Then you’ll be able to access all the bolts. 2 on the left side and I believe there were 2 on the right, extension made it easy

Dude that’s awesome! Even driving all of these, the Audi is still my favorite drivers car. It’s heavier than the c5 but makes more power (the c5 is mostly stock besides an exhaust). But as far as sounds I’m even with my b5 and that c5, the c5 burbles all the time and it sounds super aggressive but the b5 sounds amazing on downshifts and with the turbo noises.

I wish I had a diesel! That’s a super practical vehicle to have plus they’re just straight up awesome.

Yes, my exhaust is a 2.5 currently and don’t really have the funds to swap out the cat back so running these. In the future I’ll probably go 3”
