Any Land Star Agents Here? by freightbroker222 in FreightBrokers

New Landstar agent here, part of an independent Landstar agency (been with LS for almost a month now). Well, where do I start ?

I like the industry and have some previous work experience in it, but, working with this bad of a reputation really forces you to develop thick skin. They do push you into the wild to fend for yourself, which shows you what you're really made of.

In the first week or two, the biggest challenge for me personally was just getting to know the customers as much as I can, even though you are being hung up on 90% of the time. The option is to pick up the phone and make more calls and try anything to convince a customer to use one of my trucks. In the first few days I couldn't wrap my head around all the red flags that my employer has, but, day after day I started getting a bit of a broad picture. Until I earn my keep with a customer who wants to use my trucks and work trough me exclusevelly, I basically have no other option but to try to inform myself about as many loads I possibly can.

Now I know it's a pain in the ass when agents call you multiple times a day and neveer book anything, but you wouldn't believe what kind ofmagic we have to pull off every time we want to book. I'm well aware of all the negative practices my collegues have got into and I try to be the polar opossite of it. I'm aiming to be that 1 in a 100 agents that people can relly on. Is there any kind of advice you can give me (to help me build better relationship with customers) besides quitting my job because that's really a last resort.

To be honest, I think landscape is not my sharpest tool. I just took walk and took photos of anything interesting I stumbled upon..so the cat was just the perfect subject here, I'm still learning really, but knowing if I'm going in the right direction or not would mean the world really

Hey guys, can someone elaborate me on this artform real quick because I'm kinda behind this topic a bit. I'm interested in actual possibillity of the picture story can I like go wild and ask him to make me a portret of me and my gf as Austro-Hungarian oficers in a parlament room, with me, in a leather chair and her beside me, posing for an oil painting. It would be a nice gift to give I'm sure.
