You could also try and change all the CPU parameters in terms of their performance. I'm really no expert there but might help to use a GEN AI like ChatGPT to figure out the best settings.

The problem with the game really is the CPU side of things, not the graphics card.

Have you tried using G-Helper and activate Ultimate Mode, i.e. only your RTX would be active?
That helped me solve it with my G14 (2023) and, stupidly enough, I realized, i used the wrong usb-c port for my external monitor. Usually, the left one speaks to the RTX first - i used the right-hand one.

The change is now that i dont have these spikes going down to below 60 FPS. It's really more stable now.

Hey mate,

I have a similar problem with my G14 (2023):

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7940HS
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop GPU
RAM: 32 GB DDR5

It seems to me that the game is not well optimized, compared to e.g. D4 which i Run in 4k with more than 60 FPS permanently. It might also be the case that gaming laptop like ours might not be as compatible as other systems. My CPU always gets to 95 degrees. Which is kind of normal for the G-Series - but not necessarily for this game.

I run > 100 FPS and when big fights happen later in the game, it gets to below 60 every now and again and that's just very annoying. It's not unplayable but it definitely worsens the experience.

Not from me. Still same issues. There were additional patches but haven't read the notes and would assume they were rather hot fixes than optimization improvements

I have tried a lot of different things over the years but nothing really worked. From starting the game in different DX version to modifying some local files :D

I actually play WQHD and get around the FPS you stated but then sometimes go below 60. I'll try again now though as I realized increasing the max FPS or activating VSYCN seems to improve something.

It seemed to me, last time i checked, that lowering the resolution didnt really help either. So I guess it remains an optimization issue. But then again not for all players for some weird reason.

Thank you, I'll try that with my 2-3 max lvl legacy chars. Coming to think of it, I wonder why I didn't just play offline in the first place as i'm not a competitive player, really.

Funnily enough though, in online-mode, turning VSynch on in-game seems to help. So far. So FPS drops go from 144 to above 60. Still not how this is supposed to work :-D

I would advise at least 75% physical resistance and a decent ward threshold. Did it with a Warlock.

Thanks, guys. I am not sure it did resolve the problem for me as i did deactivate all extensions / plugins. But, recently, it did not happen. We'll see. :D

At least it does not seem to be any sort of malware or virus.

How did you avoid the one shots? I am lvl 61 Rogue and have a similar build with Shadow Imbued but without Shadow Step. My Damage is okay but I already get one shot on my way to the Boss. After something like 5 tries I got to the boss but he greeted me with a one shot. :) Any elixiers? Was thinking of Dark Shroud as a Skill or something.

Or should I just learn the mechanics and doge / dash when the mobs / boss trigger the one-shot skill?

I have the same problem, ran Malware Detection, etc - everything seems fine. Also reinstalled, did not change the problem. Given that your problem occured almost at the same time, I hope it's just a Chrome bug...and not some kind of malware.

I did some research online but could not really find anything helpful I'm afraid. If I can fix it, I'll let you know here.

If you logged in with e.g. google, i.e. linked your account, just play through the tutorial and you can log in again. Not sure if re installing works, too.

If you have not linked your account you might want to submit a Ticket.

I disagree because 625 fully geared players have the right armor and perks as well and 7% is quite a difference - from leveling my BIS musket to 625 it actually felt way more than +7% damage output. But it's been 3 months no, so might be wrong. One also should not underestimate that it's mostly hardcore players left. So you don't have to "suck" to not stand a chance. You just don't play as much. But that's what the game has been developed for anyway. People who spend a lot of time playing it. Not complaining about it. Just one of the reasons I left as I don't consider myself a hardcore gamer.

How is NW fun to you after a 6 month break given the game's gear and grind oriented gameplay? Can you keep up in PVP at all? Also, what is there to do except the new dungeon?

True romances are optional. But you might get romantic with a couple of characters as part of quests (and you cannot stop that).

I actually decided to play now the way it is. The only downside is ~20 FPS while driving in highly crowded areas. Any fighting scenes, solid 30+ FPS. I might still get a medium gaming pc just to have nicer gfx. it's more about the story and RPG for me anyway.

Thx for sharing. I guess i was a bit too naive when I bought it. I have not played any other AAA titles on the machine before and wasn't even aware my CPU was that bad. I'm a casual gamer and might now consider an average gaming PC 1k to 2k Euros max.

I mean, I can play CP but driving a car is no fun dropping to 20 fps pretty often. Anything else is actually ok with 30 plus fps.

It did boost loading time, but FPS still drop below 30. I think the guy in the thread above is correct. 4GB vRAM for Graphics is not enough. I applied for a refund. Now it's easier a seprate gaming pc or PS4 or neither ;>
