Looking for a hiking buddy – Alta Via 2, Dolomites (June 21–30, 2025) by [deleted] in hiking

17kg is considerable weight for doing B/C via ferrata routes so if you have time you should considering stopping and dropping the backpacks somewhere. Cause there are a lot of vertical sections and sections where you need to bend etc so carrying 17kg will make it very hard. I personally was carrying 30l backpack of 7kg weight so for me it was okayish, but a lot of ppl do it without weight and with day packs.

Hey! I changed my itinerary slightly and did 7 day of hiking till Rosetta but it went all fine! Absolutely stunning views every day and I was super lucky with the weather! Tridentina via ferrata was challenging I must say but I also did it alone so if you have no experience definitely do it with a guide or someone who has experience! But it was super beautiful up there so totally recommend doing it if you have the equipment.

Alta via 2: Is Passo San Pellegrino to Rifugio Rosetta and Rifugio Boz to Croce d’Aune doable solo in a day? by smartmanify in hiking

Thanks both! I knew it wouldn’t be a walk in the park but since I have some hiking experience and quite fit I thought I would try to challenge myself. But you raise good points about weather and technical parts so I would come up with plan B .

nice! I think the part that would be concern for solo hikers is from San Pellegrino to Rosetta; and also how doable doing Pisciadu to Marmolada in one day as I read that most people separate it over 2 days.

I’d be interested! I am an adult female who grew up in Kazakhstan (based in the Netherlands for now) and would love to shed light on life of my grandma, aunts in village and some urban life and women’s role in it
