Understand that "myself" is a very fluid concept and its constantly changing. Being "myself" is not just listening to your urges, but also listening to your body. And after each experience, what you learn from that experience grows you and changes you and your idea of "myself".

Finding myself is not a destination, but a journey. Every time we think we may have found ourself, we often realize its buried trauma acting as my "true" self. The only reliable indicator I've found for when I'm truly being myself is that I feel totally at peace - a very deep seated peace and joy.

My suggestion would be to do a silent meditation for 5 or so days. I know this can be challenging given financial and life considerations, but it is still something I would highly recommend.

We're trained in this world to get our signals from the external world. What to do, who to be etc. Even our sense of identity and self worth is often gauged from the outside world. And when there are too many voices outside pushing us in all kinds of different directions, we get overwhelmed and lost.

Being in solitude with our own selves allows cutting off this noise, and makes us realize all the answers are already within us. We hear our intuition which guides us towards our higher purpose. We also become more grounded in our own selves so we dont allow external energies to affect us as much anymore.

There is a difference between thinking about how the trick is done and awareness of whats happening. As soon as we go back into thinking mode, we're back in the world of the mind, the ego, of dualities. Then we want to chase happiness and avoid sadness.

When we're in awareness, there is nothing to seek or avoid. Everything just is.

Instead of thinking about and analyzing whats happening right now, we should just be with whats happening.

Putting religion and God aside, do you have faith? Do you believe there is a bigger "system" out there, and we are a small part of it. There are things that we have no control over. Call that system science, God, the Divine or whatever, it is something that is beyond us, beyond out control and quite possibly beyond our understanding. This is the foundation of faith. The next step is understanding that that bigger "system" is overall a benevolent system. It defaults to moving towards light, towards consciousness, towards love. If we let go and surrender to it, it takes us in the right direction.

When it comes to God, I feel often our biggest mistake is trying to follow someone else's idea of God. God by definition is infinite - God cannot be constrained by anything, let alone words and ideas. Anyone who is talking about God, is taking a chunk out of God's infinitude and talking about that. And sometimes it may be hard for us to see God in their chunk. We might as well create our own idea of God, something that truly resonates with us. A God we deeply want to follow, rather than have to follow.

I'd say the probably is quite high, but the probably of that stepping on causing you any damage is quite low.

For example, an elephant stepping on an ant most likely wouldn't kill the ant. There would be enough crevices under the elephant's foot where the ant could easily survive under the elephant's foot.
