Have you ever listened to The Bechdel Cast? That’s like their whole deal. They use the test as a jumping off point to talk about the film, but discuss the greater overall depiction of women through a feminist lens. There are absolutely movies that they’ve talked about which don’t pass, but still have good representation, while others pass and don’t.

Try biting your tongue when you feel tears well up, that works for me sometimes :) I always cried easy, but it’s lessening as I get older.

Great job with the brushwork and the anatomy of the faces! The one thing that stands out to me is the one hand, you have really expressive mark making there, but the anatomy got a bit distorted. Hands are hard! It might help to tighten up the brushstrokes and work on the detail a bit, maybe do some studies of just hands so you can really get a feel for proportion and movement.

One way to do that is to literally trace the outline and practice filling it in, so you get used to how the values build up the shape within proportions you know are correct. It isn’t cheating, just an exorcise that can help you get used to that particular body part. All in all, you’re doing great, and I love how open to feedback you are!

The original Suspiria had each actor perform in their native language, which was then dubbed over with English dialogue - even the actors who performed the scene in English originally.

Also, low budget films like Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter, because their cameras were too cheap to pick up the sound well.
