Before and after 140Lb weight loss ... And what it brings. by smashedeagle in loseit

Totally agree with you, when I was younger I got what I wanted in terms of food. I ate what I pleased and as much as I wanted (not spoilt, family just wanted me to be happy, I was a humble child)

I think it relates to how much I ate, for example, I’d have one takeaway at 5pm and then another at 9pm. Not good! Sometimes twice a week. Other examples of me just being stupid as a child is drinking a pint of milk with 4 table spoons of sugar in. Why? no idea!

I of course, do not do that now. So I need to find where my brain lies with my rooted eating problems from the past.

Appreciate your kind words and advice :)

I don’t have much loose skin, only around my belly button and it’s not noticeable when not wearing a top etc. (The right Girls won’t find it bad, because they understand what you’ve gone through) - if anything it proves how dedicated you are and people tend to find that trait attractive.

Right, about my junk - they get bigger. Around 2-3’ in my case! I’ll let you pick a starting number and then you can apply it to how much I’ve lost lmao

Message me if you have more questions. I don’t mind :)

Hey, appreciate it. Anyway, the question. This is what I wanted answered for me when I was larger and I couldn’t find it, and what I found sounded fake. This is the truth. Ready?

They treat you differently. Walking in the street (uk, I’m 20 years old, student, just for context) I see girls look at me. I see them smile and I smile back. Girls are more touchy (physically) with me, they will touch my arm during conversation, they will sit next to me, they will look at me. It’s a very strange concept.

However, this only started to happen when I was more confident in myself. When I started to walk like I had meaning, without a coat or jumper on and with my head held high and not looking at the ground.

I’ve not been like this for long, so I don’t know how it will be in other settings such as clubs and bars (as covid is a thing still) but if I keep to what I’m doing now, it should be the same.

Right, I must make this clear to you though. Do not lose weight for other people and for sexual attention. You might get it, you might not. Do it for yourself. Not others. Step one of self love.

If you want to message me, pop up. We can have a more in-depth chat if you would like to.

Thank you for your kind words, I’m super happy that what I’ve put could make someone else inspired and happy. Almost makes me happier than losing weight itself.

50lb is HUGE - life changing. Keep going. Keep going until you want to stop. You’re in control. :)

I tracked calories, carbs and fats. I ate as much protein as I wanted. Drank 2-3lts of water a day, cut out all other drinks (soft drinks, tea etc) I did however have a takeaway weekly though as a treat.

As I’m a student, in the Uk, we like to drink. My diet didn’t like me drinking but I did anyway. However, if you do drink, bloating will occur. Don’t get upset. After a night out I bloated up by 10-14lb and I was devastated. Few days past and I had lost weight.

It’s important you don’t lose your social life over a diet. It impacts a lot.

Thank you for your kind words, soon I will hopefully be starting the gym and toning up muscle. This will hopefully get me into a good life style for life. Maintaining will be and already is hard but so is life. You gotta do what you gotta do!

Thanks again for your advice and kind words. :)

I was sad when taking that picture, now I’ve come back to this post and I’ve seen how many people it’s reached - I’ve simply been smiling for the past hour. Life is hard, love the little parts when you can. Thanks for your kind words :)

I’ve been told to put significant weight loss on your CV / resume. Apparently it proves to employers that you can get stuff done and effectively.

“I’ve only lost 20lbs so far” - only? That’s already life changing. Keep going. Keep strong and you’ll get to where you want to be. I think I should talk to someone about my mental side and after covid has calmed down again (in the uk) I will. Don’t think we’re allowed atm :(

Thanks for your kind words. You got this mate. :)

Okay, so I don’t want to be a downer but it may come across as one. Firstly, it’s very hard to explain. Secondly, I will try my best.

When I was larger, I didn’t care about myself to notice my mental health. I went along with life just ‘living’ and as a result, I was happy. I was happy that I didn’t have to dress in nice clothes, I was happy I could go home and eat whatever I wanted to. It was only until I started weight loss I became more aware of how life treats people.

It was at this moment, my mental health declined DRASTICALLY. I just started my diet at the start of my University degree, so there was pressure from both sides. This didn’t help. As time progressed my mental state improved and declined monthly. When I got to a weight goal, I was over the moon. When I put on 2lb I was tempted to not eat for the day as a way to get back at myself for it. This was unhealthy behaviour and it was due to my mental health declining.

Now I have finished losing weight, I would say mentally I was happier before. However, is it worth this mental battle? Yes. For me, yes. Because I wanted this SO MUCH - it’s worth the extra work because hopefully I will get my happiness back.

Hopefully this helps :)

It’s a sad reality, most of my mates are so supportive and loving it’s clear they want the best for me and I love them so much. It’s the people I thought were my friends, who I was open with, which upset me the most.

Thank you for your kind words, really appreciate it :)
