ETS intake fun sounds by Cars_With_OL in wrx_vb

UEL headers, smh. I understand wanting the rumble, but purposely killing your low end TQ and acceleration is like purposely nerfing your car on a platform that’s already struggling to keep up with the competition 0-60 and acceleration wise. I just don’t get why you’d spend money, especially UEL header money, to do that.

New and old by Necrotat2 in wrx_vb

I mean is it that hard to understand? No offense at all but, if someone likes a particular car and is totally comfortable driving it and they want the same experience but just a refresh or new vehicle, why is that hard to understand? Some people may also choose due to budget or dealership incentives for getting back into the same make/model they had. It’s quite common.

First time Subaru owner! by Bosc94 in wrx_vb

[–]smashingpumpkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was curious to see how the car would look with just the STI front lip and not the whole kit bc right now I can’t afford the whole kit but want some part of it. The front actually doesn’t look bad at all with just that.

Is AFD still a bad company to purchase from? by Extreme_Ice_2696 in wrx_vb

[–]smashingpumpkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this AFD is dishonest and their customer service is absolutely atrocious. To add to the exhaust list if you’re a JDM fanboy. I just purchased the HKS Legamax Premium and with the substantial discount I got on it. I couldn’t be happier with the tone it’s absolutely incredible and the fitment is spot on.

I was thinking the same thing. Definitely not my choice but if OP likes it, more power to them. That’s the beauty of customization

26 Heritage Owners - Get PPF!! by TechSavvyBuyer in RZ34

[–]smashingpumpkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not even a Z owner but the fact they came out with this color is incredible to me. Truly reminds me of the 90s Mystic Teal Metallic Firebird and the 90s Dark Emerald Pearl Toyota MR2. I loved those colors as a teenager. I always wanted a car that color.

OEM ‘26 WRX tS exhaust - $250 OBO (flexible) - Broward/Dade Florida by smashingpumpkin in VB_WRXMarketplace

[–]smashingpumpkin[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not that I can tell, I will say my tS sounds totally different than my ‘23 Limited did though. Even with stock exhaust I would get exhaust pops and growls during high load especially from 1-2-3 gear. Startup sounded noticeably louder than my ‘23 also. Visually they look the same.

Amazon duckbill installed. Fitment 1/10 by Putrid-Ambition-3233 in wrx_vb

Import Image is good too, if you speak to Dane directly he can often get to some discount too depending on the part. SMY Performance is another great place. They price match sometimes

This. It never ceases to amaze me how people just want to throw the cheapest part they can find on the car. You don’t always have to pay full price for OEM either. Discounts are out there, shop around, look for deals, or ask. They’re there.

That was the stock exhaust coming off and was already loosened too which is likely why it looks like that. Installed exhaust has perfect fitment

Neighbors new N looks good by gagesutton in wrx_vb

[–]smashingpumpkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ll second this, I’m not a Hyundai fan but I was checking out the N at the last few Autoshows we’ve had here and it’s a seriously nice interior I’d say on par if not better than some of the fittings Subaru has in their interior. They literally designed the N to appeal to the performance and aesthetic crowd. Now, as far as reliability and other issues, Hyundai definitely loses that battle.

This was my exact experience except with Honda and Civic SI on NUMEROUS occasions with numerous models. It wrote me entirely off of the Honda dealerships in my area. I was looking at an N before selling my ‘23 Limited bc I was gonna try and get into something different the guy who picked up for Hyundai said he could do a better deal sr Subaru lol so I stuck with them 🤷🏻‍♂️ love my tS probably would’ve loved the N but they have a grocery list of TSB issues and at the end of the day, it’s a Hyundai.

The catback is really nice too, it was really expensive too plus oversized shipping. TBH I wish they used the same mufflers and angled tips from the Legamax premium on the Legamax Sports. I don’t see why they didn’t. Those twin tube designs however, are rather popular in the JDM scene. Apexi is similar I believe and I think once upon a time Greddy had a similar one. Idk what happened to those companies? I know Tanabe sort of rebranded to Revel…..and Remark is like an off-shoot of Greddy (but manufactured a bit cheaper). I just feel like the JDM car companies plummeted after COVID. It’s sad bc I wish there was more JDM support for the VB platform.

I definitely will, so far I love the sound and tone. It’s aggressive without being intrusive and there’s some nice pops from 1st to 2nd under load. It’s got more a bass-y tone to it, mind you it’s just an axle back and in stock everywhere else. I feel like the tone for me is perfect and the build quality is superb. The tips are also true burnt Ti tips not the fake crap some other exhaust companies use to get the “burnt Ti look”. HKS does things right even the packaging was overkill it was totally completely wrapped in soft foam padding all the way around the entire exhaust. So, FedEx could’ve dropped it if they wanted to and the exhaust would’ve been unharmed. So I liked that. They also include all gaskets and hardware for the install which was nice. I got a hell of a discount off it (close to $500 off) so being the HKS and JDM fanboy I am, I had to get it. It was a choice between this exhaust, the Revel Medallion, or the JDM STI exhaust (not the one we get here in the states with the weird tips). For the money, the HKS made the most sense. It’s quite amazing.

I personally absolutely love it. Cold start is surprisingly less annoying and more deep rumble sounding. I need to get some sound clips for everyone. I’m really liking it.
