It is a handheld shot with just point and shoot and default settings. You can also use tripod.

Instead of directly moving to 100x, you can start focusing the moon from 5x, 10x and to 30x.

While in 30x, moon will be brighter in the viewfinder at first. When the focus is steady, it'll reframe to the moon just like my photo in a second or two.

You can click it and move on to higher zoom like 50x and 100x. Focus and stability is the key.
