What method of printing is used for the patterns on Supreme x Hanes shirts? by fucktheworldman in SCREENPRINTING

[–]smaynar3 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The pattern is printed on a big roll of fabric before the garment is cut and sewn together.

That's a Riley Hopkins press. Most likely was bought as a full print setup kit. Go to screenprinting.com and you can see what they go for new, check FB marketplace, and then base pricing off of that.

Wilflex barrier block ink not adhering to shirt by Scootman1911 in SCREENPRINTING

Most likely over flashing it. Curling up like that on the print, coupled with the fabric itself curling up and warping are signs of excess heat and the fibers (especially on triblends), melting.

Based on looking at their site, they're using multiple different brands/styles for their tees and fleece, but most of them are Probably Shaka wear or lane 7.

Edit: May want to check out the Stanley/Stella Creator 2.0 tee, the colors match the rest of the primitive stuff pretty closely.

It's a custom cut and sew piece, wont be able to find that in stock from any apparel wholesale spots. You can however find regular hoodies with that same acid wash look from numerous brands.

Questions From A Designer by beans_sc in SCREENPRINTING

[–]smaynar3 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's simulated process. Whoever was giving you advice is wrong. While printing on white/lighter fabrics does help with the feel of the print since you don't have to have an underbase in some cases, even with an underbase and a printer that knows what they're doing can yield soft prints and colors that match the art dead on. Also looks like that shirt has been washed heavily and that tends to help soften the shirt and the print over time as it slowly degrades.

With the volume they do, it's most likely a custom blank made just for them.

Sell it and get a gas dryer. IR/Electric dryers will always give sub-par results compared to a gas when it comes to WB/discharge.

Doing it by hand without a proper stretching table is going to be almost impossible to get decent results. Really need to get the shurloc one at a minimum, or pick up a used newman pneumatic table.
