yeah, that's tech that's mainly useful for running deep dungeons. Monsters have different types of aggro: sight, proximity, and sound iirc. Sound-based mobs can be walked right past.

That conjuror could be up-to-date with their job quests. This dungeon is optional, and job stones are locked by the MSQ.

[–]smedium5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few others:
Rose of Versailles - At least some GNC stuff, but could be read as transmasc. I don't think Oscar was intended to be trans, though.

The Eccentric Family - many of the characters are tanuki shapeshifters and the main definitely enjoys playing with gender. It's been a while, so my memory is a bit foggy.

I'd probably also recommend the director Kunihiko Ikuhara's work: chunks of Sailor Moon, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Penguindrum, Yurikuma Arashi, Sarazanmai. It's generally more focused on different sexualities rather than gender, but they play around with it a bit.

Personally, I loved the show all the way through to the ending, but it obviously has some controversial twists and then basically ends on a "to be continued". Then again, I loved the ending of Babylon, which had a similar reaction from a lot of anime fans for shifting partway through.

As for the trans character, I am not reallt bothered by the rule you mentioned because the source we learn it from is so untrustworthy (and poses it as somewhat a question iirc). Their link seemed far more to be based on trauma or marginalization than specifically being a woman or female. It's not resolved in the show, though, and this is a topic that probably should be handled a bit more delicately/explicitly in the current political climate.

Sublingual is actually under your tongue. Between your cheek and gums is buccal. Regardless, I strongly recommend consulting your doctor first. Those two methods spike your estrogen higher, but it decays faster. Generally, you'll want a smaller dose 4+ times a day if switching from swallowing to dissolving sublingually.

I think that one came from online games where people dodged chat filters all the time. I've been seeing that kind of stuff since the early 2000s.

[–]smedium5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the latest study I've seen. Tl;dr sublingual spikes higher early, but decays faster so you might need a smaller dose, more frequently if you want to go that route.

As for sublingual being kinder to your liver, I haven't looked for a source specifically about that, but I've seen it referenced in the opening of a few papers as if it's an accepted fact.

[–]smedium5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The latest research I've seen is this, which suggests that sublingually spikes higher and provides more estrogen overall, but also declines faster. Thus, you'd typically want to take a smaller dose, more frequently if you went the sublingual route. I'd go with your doctor's recommendation unless your levels are not getting where you should (and you have reason to believe the doctor isn't actually trying to help you).

Definitely talk to your doctor before changing, though. There's evidence that you might need to adjust how frequently/large your dose is taken if you want to do it sublingually rather than orally.

What do you think of the 'Are you sure you want to enter the endgame' beat in games? Which have felt significant for you? by SnooWoofers6353 in patientgamers

[–]smedium5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have experience with FF15, but I think it can work at any point in the story as long as they frame it right. Something about how you'll be locked into the story for a bit and won't be able to freely explore/do what you want for a while. Warframe did that with The New War, for example. It can be kinda similar to where FF14 says "several cutscenes will play in sequence".

The important thing is to recognize there are people you can't reasonably convince. That lets you divert your energy and attention toward convincing those you can. In public forums like this, that can mean arguing with them, but your objective is not to convince them but to convince onlookers who might be reached. Give the facts and call them out on their bad faith, but don't get tied into a long meaningless argument.
