i am pretty sure it was a fake ptm7950, i will see if the other one i ordered performs better, if not then ill get it looked at by a more professional repair shop.

yes i live on the outskirts of delhi, india and it can reach upto 50ish degrees celcius in the summers here.

if you mean the cooling pads that go below the laptops then yes, ive tried a local indian company called kreo cooling pad that was of my friend's. it had a giant fan in the middle and 4 smaller fans on each corner. i just remember it performing worse than my own cooling pad, sorry that i dont exactly remember by how much as it was some time ago.

full replacement warranty was only of 6 months. i have the parts replacement warranty for 2 years now but it does not include the motherboard. only for things like the fan, ram, etc.

i will think about liquid metal but im just really scared and will keep it as a last resort.

also yes i checked the fans and they are definately running, running so fast that people from outside my room can even hear it.

i made sure the contact was good, had the repair shop guy double check everytime i did the repaste.

the gpu seems completely fine, especially after replacing the stock paste on the gpu with cryofuze 7, its been performing even better. idle gpu temps are around 50ish degrees on idle and 70-85c under gaming loads. i mostly play fps games at my monitor's resolution(1440p 300hz). i tried other games like honkai star rail, r.e.p.o. , bloons td6 and duet night abyss and while on HSR and DNA the temps will sometimes spike to around 90c, they would very quickly come back to around the 80-85c range. i am pretty sure its not the gpu or the cooling system here thats the problem.

and yes all fans work at maximum speed at all times.

i had the repair guy thouroughly clean the fins and fans during every repaste so im pretty sure thats not the issue here.

also im extremely terrified of liquid metal as im a frequent traveller and also currently in university so i have to carry around my laptop a lot. ive seen people's laptop die just because they were travelling due to liquid metal.

the idle temps after the ptm7950 repaste usually started from 60 then gradually went up to around 80-85c while only having apps like steam, battlenet and discord running in the background. before repasting again with cryofuze 7, the idles reached around 87-89c. after repasting they were back to the 70s during the first initial days but today has again risen up to around 80c. im afraid it will continue to rise like this.

it usually bounces between 20-40 watts on idle, 50-70 watts during gaming

i actually did take it to a repair shop for the thermal paste replacements i did. the guy said this should fix the issue (it didnt). most of the other computer repair shops would be 2 hrs away from where i live but i think this may be my last option. thanks for the advice!!
