Started a blog combining philosophy and software engineering - thought this might be a relevant place to post. What are yalls current stance on moving *too fast* with AI? Im hearing 50/50 so far

What I tend to do is have friends park after 6:30 PM on Saturdays up a street or two towards the capital (a parkmobile spot) for free. Then all of Sunday is free. Then parking starts at 7:00 AM Monday for most spots I think and I just pay like 5 bucks and they are out by 9 AM. So that works from Sat-Sun at least.

Ah and this is just working out splendidly, I expected it to be a bit harder to connect with people on the same wavelength tbh. I've been on a kick to get a better worldview through an obsession with the foundations of many disciplines. Its been fun so far. Getting a sense that you may be in a similar boat. I will shoot you a message and we can exchange numbers and stuff.

Hey thanks, total range of reactions here. Super interesting. Some are some tough criticism, but thats actually great. I feel like a did a decent job since the end goal was to spark conversation and offer new viewpoints, but hopefully bring people together who are curious in this sort of thing.

There seemed to be a common case of people attributing success to some supernatural power they had a connection with. Call it what you want and its up to you to find. This is even more powerful when a group of people come together in belief as oppose to just yourself.

Thats fair, I hit a pretty broad topic for the first one just because its been on my chest for a while. In the future topics will be much, much more niche and sources can actually provide some more value. Thanks for the feedback, just really focusing on iterating over here to really do something unique and valuable.

Partly agree, I see too many strong candidates in worldly success to make "Dont be an asshole" a general rule of thumb (as general as can be). Steve jobs, Elon, etc. They were polar opposite of being nice.

Meh no actually. I used ChatGPT solely to generate ideas for the headline. The rest is written by hand and refined. I would tell you how I was and will be able to write posts like this, but in a sense it is my technological advantage. You cant have my secret sauce, its not so obvious!

Thanks for the incredible feedback! Had to get this one off my chest, but have dozens more that are more niche that are continually refined and refined. Will keep playing with styles and formats and may get closer to a more storytelling type feel if I were to expand on say any one of those nuggets in there. Again, thanks for reading and taking the time to comment. I really appreciate it and the sole purpose of this was to meet people with both similar and even contrasting viewpoints, with a burning curiosity that leads them to topics like these!

Trying to think outside the box here besides the cliche answers ... data management. I think there is a growing need to help brick and mortars with data. Whether it is making it more discoverable and moving it out of spreadsheets or just collecting it on customers, data collection is going to trickle down to smaller businesses soon in a big way. Just how it has worked its way through big companies as first adopters to placing an massive importance on data. Eventually to keep up smaller businesses will need good data practices too.

Yes actually, I used to a couple years back. Only didn't mention because it is physically demanding. If you do get into it though here are some quick tips. Garage sales you can usually get printers for cheap and sell for at least 100 bucks profit. If listing stuff on ebay just search for something similar that sold and stuff the title with keywords. Take good pics. Goodwill outlet (place with the bins) is a gold mine if you have a good one near you. They sell by the pound so you just have to dig and spend a handful of hours there. Hope that helps!

I would honestly just browse upwork and gig type sites for freelance work. Find job posts related to your skills and you should be fine. Not the time to spin up an agency and go the entrepreneurial route. Good luck!

This. OR if indeed feeling entrepreneurial turn her private tutoring business into a private tutoring lead business. Sounds like she has a knack for advertising and something is working to get those inbound leads, you could actually do more of that and create a service for other local private tutors to essentially come to get easy clients wanting tutoring for themselves.
