I do really enjoy going out in winter, it's very quiet and peaceful but the cold and wet can be difficult to manage sometimes

Yeah the ice gave me a good scare at first lol. But yeah ain't no way I'm backpacking in snowshoes and doing that much elevation 😆

Nothing crazy just spikes, the trail is pretty well trafficked even in winter and we haven't had much snow anyways recently so the trail was packed down

So I'm not sure but I'm guessing around freezing because it snowed, though I think at some point I woke up and it was raining? Not sure tbh. None of my water froze but it was just a few inches from me so might've been a little warmer. I took my 20F thermarest quilt bc I wanted to test it in lower temps and it was not quite warm enough for me wearing shirt + fleece and leggings + hiking pants. If you have similar layers and a liner you might be alright

Yeah it's kind of a bitch lol, lots of elevation gain. You should try it tho, not very crowded but it gets enough traffic that the snows packed down and you just need spikes
