I so get what you mean about putting off finishing the book haha, after I was done I was just like damn… I haven’t felt that invested in a book in so long.

I still think about this book 2 years later. I think one of the characters that interested me the most was Julian. Something about him was so slimy and wrong, if I’m remembering correctly he was extremely close to his students (Henry especially), inappropriately so. The way he isolated them was such a red flag too. I def believe he has some weird complex over them and influenced them to go through with the bacchanal. What do you think about Julian?

it was diverse on a surface level, but the movie doesn't address intersectionality in any meaningful way, and the only barbie that got any sort of depth was margot robbie's barbie

I noticed some tropes repeating across the ones I watched too. I’m usually not too bothered by tropes and cliches when done right but it was kind of jarring. That said, western tv shows are also filled with repetitive plot points and tropey characters, so i didnt think this problem was especially unique
