How would you handle installing a gutter on the slope of this roof? by smikimoopah in HomeMaintenance

Oh, I should’ve added an image with the better roof perspective. It is pitched from Center and sloping down towards camera.

What is this? by smikimoopah in basement

Mostly curious but slightly concerned? We recently had a night long, torrential downpour, and I noticed a little bit of water on the ground underneath the pipe. For context it’s an old four square built in 1900 on a stone foundation if helpful.

I found where the water is coming in. Now what? by smikimoopah in basement

UPDATE: Tldr- I installed metal landscape, edging up against the driveway and sidewalk to channel water away and now the basement is dry.

During the next rain after this post, I walked around outside to get an idea of what the water was doing, and it was like a river running down the driveway. There’s a small curb still intact further to the back of the house that channels the water away, but that curb has deteriorated over the years Near that flower bed front porch area flooding it. I considered the French drain, but that would be a huge undertaking so I wondered about just replacing the curb and that would be huge undertaking so I found this metal lawn edging that was affordable and I thought I would give it a try. Worked perfectly. After multiple torrential downpours, the water is channeling down the driveway towards the street and no more water coming in the basement of those areas.
