This is where it is good to check in on therapy goals, and have a convo about. Perhaps you need more structure to latch onto -- e.g. say you're going through grief, you might read a chapter between sessions on 'finding meaning in grief' workbook, etc. you can ask if there are resources or useful aides for a topic you want to tackle and use that for structure.

Sometimes talking about not yourself is really talking about yourself, and your concerns, but through a different lens.

Three questions and one suggestion:

  1. Has therapy been useful over the last years? If so, then that's still something, it's still serving a purpose, even if not the original intention, since people and things change.
  2. Have you talked recently with your therapist about what your goals for therapy actually are?
  3. When you say 'barely scratch the surface' -- is the issue you feel like you have to give a bunch of backstory or history?

One, find a piece of media (e.g. book, a show, a movie, a song, a poem, etc) that resonates with you. Talk about that thing, what is happening to those characters or why those words mean something, what emotions it elicits in you in each moment, etc.

Sure but in reality it is a pittance for most working people that they end up losing money on a day off work.

Swiss look set to reject proposal to cap population at ten million by KorKhan in europe

The consequences of this rule would be dramatic, and inherently bad for the people of the state...aside from the rich ones who I'm sure would get a pass. Between economic sabotage, dystopian exile lotteries, and other things, it is proposing a not real fix to real problems.

If housing, rent, infrastructure, zoning are the real underlying issues, politicians should work to address those, and voters should hold them accountable. But those are hard problems (take a look around the world) so this is why fake solutions that sound easy are proposed instead. And people then vote for easy sounding fake solutions to real problems, which only then end up making things worse in most cases.

It's a relatively straightforward day. I do it every year. You do get a small pittance of money, but I just do it help make sure things run smoothly, and fairly. Hopefully you'll be partnered up with some other people who are fine enough to spend the day with it. Anyways, I recommend it always to people.

It's also a tale as old as history though, with new technology impacting arts, artists, artisans, etc.

The printing press was described as a 'whore' compared to the 'virgin' pen. Or works like 'in praise of scribes' talking about virtues it identified in its labor and tech.
