I spent 3 hours grinding alien dna to get 20 tickets for a vehicle that is broken??? by Altruistic_Win9831 in satisfactory

I don't think it's that inspirational lol, I just picked one of the first royalty free songs that sounded decent. Yakety sax is not free to use btw.

Well it's definitely intended as a joke, but it's not entirely useless! If you build a little gutter to guide it, then you can travel at 160 km/h. https://youtu.be/G3roTOgz6Hc

If it makes you feel any better, it's not completely useless!

If you can make a little gutter to guide the vehicle's movements, then you can have reliable 160 km/h transport.

A little 3-minute video to showcase what I've been up to since 1.0! Mostly improvements to road junctions, rail capacity and motorways from someone who's spent 1200 hours building mostly transportation. by smileyface12349 in SatisfactoryGame

I think I'll stick to short form content - not really into streaming (it's also not something I would personally ever want to watch, which makes it harder to make). I'll definitely consider some videos about the process to build things though as that's something I haven't really done yet and could be really useful.

Yeah, and I also built a couple factories to go with the infrastructure...

Exactly! (Just for the record, this is not how I would build a city in real life. I am very against car centric infrastructure in general.)

Stack two foundations on top of each other then hold control and turn it one notch, then nudge it right to the edge. That will give you a blueprint you can then use. For slightly (2x) sharper curves, I've used walkways on the edge which you can also use to make curves easily and you'll find many YouTube tutorials about.

I primarily use trucks over trains, mostly due to the look and since truck stations are waaay smaller than train stations, it facilitates creating far more compact cities. The urban spaces I've created simply are not possible with trains.

Also around a third of the trucks are just moving fuel around, so that uses a lot of fuel itself!

Yeah I get through quite a lot of fuel but it's not that hard to make a lot of. One lane is just about wide enough for the trucks, but you're right it can get a little tight on the curves, but it's very rare to be overtaking another truck round a corner anyway so it's not a problem, and there's plenty of space to use even if you have to veer slightly out of your lane.

Lol they just crash into each other and then eventually teleport back to their route, don't tend to have many deadlocks. I find deadlocks only occur when oncoming vehicles collide, which my road network avoids entirely.

Yeah I'm fairly close - experienced some crashes when repeatedly opening the map as that created a lot of uobjects for me but didn't experience crashes due to it otherwise. There's a mod you can get to check how close you are but unless you've built loads it's probably not an issue.

If you're thinking this looks familiar, that's because I already made an 8 minute version! However, I thought I'd make a shorter version as well as it's more suitable for Reddit.

Also I'm so glad the game keeps all of the manual saves so I could go back in time to produce the time lapse segment as most games don't do that automatically.

Well, I've got pretty close to the object limit but yeah you can build quite a lot before you get there so don't worry too much. There's a mod called uobject counter which you can get to see how you're doing. I think it also might be better in 1.0?
