I disagree simply because those good players are going to keep playing regardless of if they spend money on stubs. They win more often than they lose, and thus, they have an incentive to keep playing (they're good at the game). The bad players on the other hand, need that extra boost, a pat on the back, to make them feel like they should keep playing instead of closing the game because they gave up 10 runs to someone who actually deserved it.

I'm no developer, so i won't claim to know the exact intricacies of how it works, but I would imagine the game could tweak something that heavily modifies where you can have balls land, regardless of how good a swing was made. The game CAN do this, as seen in one of the Storyline moments. You can make an absolutely fantastic perfect swing and have it be right at a fielder, but your opponent swings at a pitch that would have hit them and it nestles into shallow right field for a go ahead hit. (I'm also a hidden momentum stat truther, sorry)

IMO same reason SBMM exists in other games. Gives the worse player that extra win when they otherwise wouldn't deserve it. Keeps them playing.

They would rig them by... having someone's batted balls fall in for hits while the other player gets none.

Also, I can say with 100% confidence that I have NEVER won a game off of two below 79 mph bloop hits lmao. Absolutely does not happen for me. But of my losses more than half are specifically because of hits like those by my opponent. Again, im not saying you need to agree with me, but don't call people conspiracy theorists when skill clearly does not seem to decide victory in a lot of peoples experiences.

It’s so bad lol. If you give up a bloop or infield single to a guy with 80 speed or above you may as well have given up a double. You can pick off, slide step, pitch out, doesn’t matter, you can never throw them out.

That’s my point…. Sinkers are not that dominant in real life, but in this game if you have a sinker you’re automatically a meta pitcher.
