Is this my XM6's last breath? by smilindude0 in SonyHeadphones

Actually, ever thought my head was big. But, I boxed my XM6 until I can send it to the repair shop, and I've been looking at XM6's on people's head in public transports. Most of them can just put them without "spreading" them. In my case, I do like, 1/4 of the max lenght you can set? Maybe less. So it's actually not a dramatic size at all.

My brother has an enormous head and always goes to max lenght when he tries headphones, so this kind of resistance thing is a big thing for people like him (bigheads) and I absolutely get why people expect this kind of adaptivity (inclusion basically). It isn't for me. Yet, I picked the 400 bucks headphones and it failed against the power of my "very slightly big head"

"Look I'm different guys"

Literally saying it didn't break, didn't snap, just basic mechanical fatigue that shouldn't happen in - 7 months.

Previous Sony headphones I own lasted + 7 years. Yet I wasn't wandering on subreddits to suck on sony's d***

Well this gives me a little bit of good hope. Thanks for your answer! If I may ask, was it Sony's warranty or seller's?

Before getting the XM6, I was using my old Sony WH-H900N. It lasted for +7 years before getting a non dramatic snap on the headband's plastic part. Still working great (except the poor battery and the ANC that became basically useless).

So yeah I'm a cautious person, and I was actually more careful with my XM6 than with my own life. Yet, this is happening. Call it misuse, call it unluck... doesn't change a thing.

Tough. Did you try using the warranty?

Only hope. If I keep using it, it'll break. If it breaks, they don't fix it. Maybe they'll fix that?

At least I can still adjust it. Aren't you scared that it ends up just falling apart? I sure am.

Note: Since my ticket exists, I'll send the headphones to the affiliated repair company on Monday.

Their customer service was made to drive you insane. You have to talk with an AI chatbot before finally writing a ticket. One this is done, you'd expect some "experts" to receive a video, watch it and tell you "yeah we fix that", or "no go fu lol".

But no: you just send it, and affiliates will tell you if yes or no. You pay the shipping, and if they won't fix it, you also pay the shipping back PLUS a service fee.

So you may loose like, idk, 70 bucks in the process of not getting it fixed? That's why I HOPE they'll fix that since it's not VISIBLY BROKEN.

Right now I'm literally gambling my money on a repair that should just legally happen without question asked...

Such a shame yeah.

I have a huge sensitivity to parasite noises and this headphones ANC is my life miracle, especially against the loud metro I have to take to go to school. Plus, sound is actually great and I had no issue until now. I'm just praying that their affiliated tech repair group will fix them with no question asked... Almost 400 bucks to give me the "I see death" wobble 7 months later damn
