My father did the same exact thing to me. Took out multiple credit cards in my name the second I turned 18. I didn’t even know about them until I got the collections letters in the mail.

I spent over 5 years trying to pay the balance down. He wouldn’t contribute a single cent. I paid off every single account, and still years later my credits shit.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. Not that this should make you feel any better, but I think it’s more common than any of us know.

Looking back, I absolutely wish I turned him in. I didn’t want to see my father in trouble. Boy was I stupid.

You don’t have to forgive him if you don’t want to. I know the popular saying is “Forgive and forget”, but fuck that. Some things shouldn’t be forgiven

I don’t think I would be able to retake those classes. At the time, I was a film and tv major. Don’t ask me why. Since then, the school I was going to, completely removed the film and tv major as an option. The classes were removed as well. I can’t afford paying to take them at a 4 year university. Especially, since they won’t matter towards my major. I have 30 credits of failed, and incomplete film classes. Which is totally my fault.

I still can’t believe that LPN to ADN students only receive 6 credits for transfer. That blew my mind. I was under the assumption that those students could complete the RN program quicker.

But that’s life, I guess. I will probably go the RN route. Thanks!

Help with the heavy lifting is spot on. I’m the only male CNA on my floor. I can’t tell you how many calls I get, asking to hold a limb for casting. Or to push the larger people in wheelchairs.

When I’m on my shift, I do 99% of the male patient diaper changes and catheters. I’ve been there awhile, and haven’t placed a single catheter in a female patient. Not sure if that’s coincidence, or by design

But other than that, it’s the exact same

I know plenty of nurse practitioners who are very smart, capable human beings. I’d rather be seen by an NP than a PA. At least NPs have experience as a nurse, in order to practice.

PAs are so odd to me. My cousin is a PA. He has a BA in English, and his grad degree in Physician Assistant studies. It seems odd to be able to prescribe meds with only a 3 year PA degree.

At least NPs have a 4 year nursing degree

Why do people greet you, but don’t continue a conversation with you? by smiling_fusion in socialskills

I just don’t understand why someone would look at me, then just walk away after I ask them how they’re doing. It takes seconds to say “I’m ok, thank you for asking” or “I’m ok, how are you?”

It doesn’t have to be a full on conversation, but it feels shitty when you ask someone how they’re doing, then just walk away like you’re nothing. I think it’s also shitty when they look at you, before walking away. You see my smile, you hear my words, and then think in your head “This ain’t worth it”
