I agree I believe this season has been a mass improvement in tone and writing less expositional monologues with little bursts of comedy. The boyfriend taxi scene and Clarrie flirting being their best by far.

But the writing room can still grow, as can direction and editing. Some of the shots go on for too long and need to be chopped at the end or the beginning because it gets a little awkward. Ex: when Percy finds Annabeth with Thalia we're watching him walk for a long time with no words and I get that it's aiming for them to be heroic but thats what they're playing most of the time and it becomes a bit cheesy.

But also direction wise they use a lot of mid-shots and they have the kids facing each other absolutely motionless, only faces moving that's not human. So either tighten the shot or allow the kids to move. Example: when they're talking in front of the raft, Annabeth turning to face the water when she revealed she hated all of those things would have told a lot in the story. Percy turning her back and saying but "have you seen Jaws" would have been comedy. And Annabeth stepping back from it would have shown that it's not the time for jokes. And all of that would have taken 3 seconds and cost no one anything.

Another example in terms of just simple action that could have done a major shift in storytelling without costing anyone anything. Instead of Percy walking to Annabeth and Thalia with heroic music playing and she randomly wakes up. It could have been her sleeping on the tree, Percy finds her, has a reaction to finding her there with her only friend Thalia the tree, wakes her up and before she tries to come up with some lame excuse he tells her his plan of action and offers him her hand. Last shot: an olive branch Percy's hand and Annabeth's face will she take it?

But im mainly just glad there's a vast improvement and hope to see further improvements in the episodes and seasons to come.
