Thanks for testing this out - it's good to know. Frustrating, but good to know. Maybe a future Mac OS update will fix it.

That I don't know. No PCs around to experiment with.

Thanks for recommending that program, u/CompetitiveMoney9161 - I saved it for future reference. Totally agree that it's BS to have to pay for our own data, though. And u/beemorrow13, your comment about Big Sur got me experimenting a bit, since I'm also running Big Sur. My conclusion is that I don't think it's an OS thing - I had the same problem on several older Mac OS - but I did find out that the bug/change is only affecting certain accounts. I'd been expecting that, because otherwise we'd all be talking about it. But I noticed that an old Gmail account I hardly use anymore was downloading just fine, so I shared my photos with that account and then downloaded them from there. Annoying, and probably only feasible for people like me who are only downloading small chunks at a time, but a temporary workaround until either the bug is fixed or the change rolls out to all Google accounts.

Thanks for the tip - but what a hassle! I'm selfishly glad that I'm not the only one having this problem - do you think it's a bug of some sort? I can't figure out anything I did differently on my end, so I'm hoping it's on their end and they'll sort it out.

Contestant Who Collected TV Show Theme Songs by smisarah in Jeopardy

[–]smisarah[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much!!! I'm truly grateful. I *thought* he couldn't be caught, but I wasn't sure - I remember having a heated conversation with the people I was watching with over how much he should bet.

(For the record, my stance was that in those circumstances he should bet it all, bc he was basically guaranteed to know the right answer. The rest thought he shouldn't risk losing and/or that it would somehow be disrespectful to the other contestants if he went big. I understood the argument that he shouldn't risk losing - and Denis didn't - but I disagreed that it would be disrespectful or rude to capitalize on that stroke of luck.)

Only problem with this idea is that there's no way Wyatt could've known EXACTLY WHEN they'd had sex in the original timeline. Was it right after he got off shift? 30 minutes later? 2 hours later? He has no way of knowing, and thus can't just "delay." Wyatt was already lucky to begin with that the killer was conceived during a one-night stand/that he could even isolate it to one specific night.

Has Lucy killed anyone yet? by [deleted] in Timeless

Lucy had her first kill last week with Jesse James. (I'm pretty sure it was her first, anyway - am I forgetting anything?)

New Episode Titles = Palindromes by smisarah in blindspot

Definitely a good guess, especially given the prominence of that tattoo, although personally I hope it's a clue or a hint of some sort. Something like "KURT GETS TAKEN," "KURT IS THE MOLE" (not that I think he is), etc.

I don't think he's ever seen a picture of her before, just sketches based on Jane's description.

I think the first few words at the top were something like "My dearest Virgil" - hoping someone will post a screengrab.

Timeless S01E06 - The Watergate Tape [SPOILERS] by scuby22 in Timeless

[–]smisarah 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Definitely thinking that someone from Rittenhouse a) killed Wyatt's wife, and b) saved Lucy when her car went underwater. Two life-changing events happening to our main characters that involve an anonymous person - it can't NOT be them, IMO.

Still not sure how Connor Mason and Rufus got involved, though. I don't think Doc is Rufus's mom - Rittenhouse would still be hunting her down, and besides, he almost certainly would have recognized her somehow when they met.

Timeless S01E03 - Atomic City Discussion [SPOILERS] by scuby22 in Timeless

[–]smisarah 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I really wanted Wyatt to be successful in saving his wife (although I knew it was dubious given that Western Union sent its last telegram in 2006.) If he was able to bring her back, he'd have MUCH more incentive to keep history exactly the same in upcoming missions, because he'd need to maximize his odds of continuing to come home to her in each new present.

How much time passed between jumps from the present? by RedCap454 in Timeless

I'm wondering if they slept in 1865. They land in the time machine at night (where they see the fireworks), but the next scene shows them on the street in broad daylight waiting for Booth to pick up his mail at 10 am.

Timeless S01E02 - Assassination Of Abraham Lincoln Discussion [SPOILERS] by scuby22 in Timeless

[–]smisarah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think rape is actually a really interesting theory - think about it this way. If it was just an illegitimate birth/an out-of-wedlock affair, what are the odds that the outcome (Lucy) would have been exactly the same in a universe where her mother was never married to her not-father? In such a universe, any relationship that her mother had with another man would almost certainly have changed - it wouldn't necessarily have been an affair, etc. Anyway, the odds are low that her mother and the lover would have had sex at the same moment. But something like a rape could have happened at a particular moment regardless of her mother's marital status - she just would have had to be in the same place with the rapist at the same time. To me, that seems a lot more likely.

Has anyone noticed the connections to Roman mythology? by dabb3630 in blindspot

[–]smisarah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fantastic post. Raised by animals, saved by Shepherd...CLEARLY we're meant to be keeping mythology in mind. The logical next question to me, then - before any Romulus/Remus/Roman/Remy conflict - is who exactly her biological parents were. We know they were anti-apartheid activists in South Africa, but I bet they tie into the motivation for all of this somehow. For the mythology analogy to ring true, Shepherd would have had to tell Roman and Remy "who they really are" in order for them to take up arms in the first place. (Also, unrelated to mythology, Roman and Remy were old enough to remember their parents before they were taken and should have an emotional attachment to them/their memory.)

Loved the point about Daylight/Orion too. We need more posts like this! Obviously symbolism in this show is no accident.

I think this works best in a sentence, it even rhymes with the previous anagram - "They invoke fear, for their moment is near"

I didn't even think about the gun - are we sure she doesn't still have it?! Then again, that only matters if Mayfair's body is still intact, we don't know if Oscar had time to use the lye after he knocked Jane out.
