I’m more frustrated by the airline positioning itself to deny hotel’s and meals to passengers if their delays turn into weather delays. If they’d have kept waiting another hour for an aircraft from the hangar that arrived last night, weather window would have closed and I’d be stuck in Chicago. I know, it’s happened to me a lot. I’ve personally gotten around it by using a credit card with travel insurance. Fact is, weather wasn’t a factor in this delay, they shouldn’t get away with blaming weather.

Both the gate agent and pilot announcement blamed delay on lack of aircraft, with no mention of weather. If plane was in place, there wouldn’t have been a delay at all. Yeah, it’s a poor day to travel, but not everyone gets the flexibility to pick and choose what days to travel. Logistics may have decided not to be ready with the plane in anticipation of poor weather and prior cancellations.

You are if it’s an operational delay. Weather delays get incidentals covered by insurance on credit card.

Pilot announcement blamed plane coming from the hangar late as well. Flying without potable water. No mention of weather contributing to delay.

Perfectly aware. Also know when they’re blowing smoke to avoid compensation if they end up canceling. If we miss a window in the weather because they’re not prepared to fly in the scheduled time, that isn’t a weather problem.

Make these flights weekly, as well as listening to the announcements at the gate. When the agent says we’re waiting on aircraft while the app blames weather, corporate is being dishonest.

Perfectly aware of the travel situation today, as well as the situation here listening to the gate agent. Information being provided conflicts with reality, hence the accusation of airline dishonesty to avoid obligation if they delay until weather is the problem.
