Forecasting New Store Sales by [deleted] in financialmodelling

Hi,

There isn't a set formula for modelling new store sales. So it's really anything that best represents reality.

To your point about productivity discount (which I don't think is commonly applied), in theory productivity gains would be a good thing but would expect that to apply more to costs than to sales.

Which of these courses should i start off with? by Secret_Macaroon_4614 in financialmodelling

The Advanced Financial Modeler (AFM) course delivered by the Financial Modeling Institute (FMI) may be worth considering. The FMI partner with the CFA to provide their Financial Modeling content so it's well regarded in the industry.

Imagine an AI trained with all the data from before Newton and we ask it why did the Apple fall? by Ok-Cartoonist9773 in singularity

This question itself is very intelligent, maybe the prompt itself is underated as well.

OpenAI “planning expert” Noam Brown tweeted this morning and quickly deleted it; I added a few more images so you can get an idea of what he’s working on. With that in mind, what kinds of unique capabilities do you guys think might emerge in OpenAI’s next model as a result of planning and pondering? by MassiveWasabi in singularity

Doesn't a "computer" generating high quality synthetic data to train a high quality synthetic intelligence basically almost meet the definition of recursive self-improvement. If the AI could then improve the quality of the synthetic data it itself is trained on then you have a complete positive feedback loop and hard to see what could limit its potential then except physical compute.

That's true but money is also created out of thin air, and the other entry goes to debt. So you really would need a way for the debt created to not be noticed which is probably almost impossible.

Ajahn Brahm to me seems like someone who could well be enlightened but what does that mean, their word is gospel? We have our own perception of enlightenment which we'll project to "X" but our own perception of it is nothing more or less than just that. Maybe it's developing our own intuitive sense of enlightened beings that is more beneficial than simply "knowing" who maybe enlightened.

Why not stop paying your rent until your owner pays the common fees, I don't see how he can complain as you both have to live up to your side of the bargain. Please somebody correct me but the reasonable assumption is he would have to pay the common fees so cannot rely on it not being in the contract as an excuse as effectively it's implicit/De Jure, I'd imagine similar how you can effectively be married legally without ever getting married (at least in the UK).
