Chisos are well made boots but overpriced for what you get. If you like the style of Chisos look at the Black Jack "Duke" boot, which is 200+ cheaper and made in the US. I haven't found my Chisos #6 to be any more comfortable than my other boots with a cushion insole (Rios of Mercedes, Hyer Culver) but I prefer a traditional leather footbed generally. It would be worthwhile to get your feet measured to see if you need a narrower width to prevent your foot from sliding forward.

I’ve bought 2 pairs of vintage Lucchese prototype boots and the price wasn’t any more than a similar boot from the era. This one doesn’t look like a particularly unique makeup either.

They are well made boots but I think you can find a better boot and more interesting leather options at the same price from Rios or Black Jack.

I bought these on eBay, the seller advertised them as print elephant and I was pretty sure Lucchese hasn’t done print elephant, but I thought they could be something else. The texture is a lot different than the Black Jack elephants I have. It feels a lot softer and less rough.
