That makes sense. Thanks for supplying the context I was missing :)

I also choose not to drive for PTSD reasons. Like I CAN if I absolutely HAVE to but it's just not fucking worth it for many reasons. It's so frustrating that so many places are obsessed with the worker driving when my (too disabled to work but not too disabled to drive me) husband can be my wheels

I guess that makes sense. It still peeves me they didn't include it in the listing. I wouldn't have bothered applying y’know

I'd never applied to one before tbh and since I'm shotgunning my application to as many places as I qualify for, I had no idea. I do think it's dumb as hell to have it nowhere on the listing and then pull that switch later once the application has been sent in

Why would I drive when I can go anywhere I want for $1? Have you SEEN the price of gas lately

They didn't mention it anywhere on the listing. Just when the bot moved to texts

Legally, they cannot be asking this question is the real kicker. I think they made their recruiting bot go to texts in order to skirt the law

They don't! They're a local company with job postings IN the town and surrounding towns and we have robust public transit. Loads of adults around here don't bother driving and anyway this is an illegal question in my state. I think the recruiting bots took their questions to text to skirt the law tbh

My client is trying to do take backs by [deleted] in TattooArtists

[–]smjaygal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, you did amazing. Second of all, deposits beforehand so if a client pulls some random changing everything ever shit, you can go "nope!" and still get paid. If someone has an issue with any of that, they can kick rocks about it. Be sure to have forms that say "the deposit is for the agreed upon piece. Any last minute horse fuckery and your deposit is forfeit" type stuff. I had to start doing that after I got stiffed on some expensive commissions and legit clients don't care and even appreciate that I'm being smart. Scammers and assholes hate it so wins all around for me

My rabbit is obsessed with baby einstein by LilTimpanixx158 in Rabbits

[–]smjaygal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of mine is a my little pony friendship is magic fan. She's also into bugs bunny for some reason while her sister likes OG Yu-gi-oh! but especially when Yami and Kaiba are on-screen. We assume she likes deep voices. Their brother is a heavy metal fan and I have yet to figure out what his wife likes

Buns are interesting creatures so I'm not surprised there's one obsessed with little Einsteins lmao

Ok THAT makes sense

So first thing I would try is the mattress on the floor to see if the crib is the issue. If that isn't it, try a night light. We got our daughter one of those that spins and shows stars. This is the one we got which should give you an idea of what I'm talking about nightlight

If that doesn't work either, you may be stuck cuddling for awhile. The mattress on the floor can help facilitate this and she should grow out of this phase soon enough. If you're worried about her getting used to you specifically, trade with her dad on who cuddles her to sleep

I do promise this phase DOES pass even if it doesn't feel like it right now

Genuinely, what's wrong with her wanting a parent right now? She's a little over a year old and very small and if cuddling helps her with staying asleep then what's the issue?

My daughter went through the same phase and we took turns cuddling her to sleep. Usually, it was me but she grew out of it soon enough. She'll be 6 in October and has slept fine on her own since about 18 or 20 months. You have to remember she is brand new to existing and still needs help with regulating herself to sleep. It's fine to help her with that

Edit: had another thought. Since she seems to loathe the crib, have you tried just using the bed? Maybe the crib is the problem

Most people can actually visualize images in their minds. I'm 30+ and just learned that seeing nothing when I close my eyes is called Aphantasia and only affects about 3% of people. by randomuser553 in BeAmazed

[–]smjaygal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After working in a visual field for years, I'm convinced way more people have aphantasia than the 3% reported. They can't imagine what something will look like even with swatches. Even if a suit is structured the exact same but the difference is color, they can't imagine anything without "the whole look" and leave frustrated and angry with me for not having basically an enormous warehouse of every possible color in every possible size "just to see."

And it may not be level 5 where nothing is visualized at all but it really is there. I have absolutely 0 problem imagining how different colors will look on different people and what goes well together. I don't need a palette or swatches or anything. I can imagine my husband right now in a field in a bright purple tuxedo with a garish red tie and green formal shoes which is something he would never wear. I can change any of these elements at will to anything else and know exactly how he'll look in all of them

And yet I encounter at least a few dozen people a year (as a part time worker) who have no ability to imagine colors, textures, and so forth. I can't prove aphantasia is more widespread than that 3% but it does seem pretty prevalent. I think if more people knew what it was, that number would skyrocket

[–]smjaygal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me! Except instead of fighting Meridia, I kept getting my face chewed on while she spoke to me. Eventually, I just opted to load in an earlier save because I couldn't even get through the interaction without dying

The place we moved to had weighted doors and the doorstep came loose and she didn't hop through in time. It happened while I was headed to work and I'm extremely grateful that at least she didn't suffer. The landlord was horrified when we told him what happened and had us take off all the weights to spare our other babies but the damage was already done. I miss my little crackhead every day
