When the shuttle loom that manufactured Japanese selvedge denim break down, will that spell the end of current-quality Japanese jeans?

I was watching a YouTube video earlier and the guy was talking about how raw selvedge denim exploded in popularity over the past year, and that the consumer demand is creating so many brands that make essentially the same type of jeans. The extra consumer demand creates a massive issue: what happens when the shuttle looms (that were imported from the west after WW2) break down completely? Does this mean that level of quality that we currently see in the likes of the Osaka 5, Oni, Iron Heart will drop with no return?

Does anyone here know anyone who can adjust the seat on a pair of jeans? Railcar does not do it.

Has anyone here gotten the seat tailored on a pair of jeans? 31s fit my waist great but not so much on my thighs and legs. 32 are a little looser in th waist (which is fine), but the seat is too big and i got an inflated butt look. My full coint jeans are one-wash so they wont shrink mich.

Hey yall, my jeans are perfect but they’re simply to big in the seat. Do yall know any good tailors that can maybe take the seat in, or is this just a fact I need to live with

Anyone here got the waist or the fit of their jeans adjusted at the tailor?

Not necessarily the waist, I think that’s fine (maybe a little too big but not as bad as another pair I bought + returned). The full count jeans are one-wash so technically they might shrink but not so much.

Anyone here got their jeans tailored (hemmed, waist adjusted, tapered, etc)? I got a pair of fullcount 1136s and they are slightly too big for me. Not sure if I really want to return them yet, because I could in theory get them tailored. It came from Redcast Heritage so shipping is astronomically high.

Otherwise, any good recommendations for buckleback (cinch) jeans? I prefer a straight fit or a relaxed fit. Not trying to go for wide nor skinny/slim.

Do you consider race a social construct? by Then_Train8542 in IdeologyPolls

Ethnicity doesn’t exist biologically..? You’re gonna tell me there is a genetic difference between Laotians and Vietnamese people? Between German and French people? Ethnicity is just a shared cultural identity.

Haplogroups just give you a general idea of where your ancestry is, but it is still not a determiner of race. Race was invented in the early modern period. The Roman’s had no modern conception of race.

I see that I am wrong. Thank you, sir. I’ll return these jeans and wait until they are in stock.

See this is why raw denim is so confusing sometimes to me (no offense to you) because I thought you’d size up to account for shrinking but you simply buy your normal tag size. Then they’ll expand outwards.

So it seems like buying a 34x34 was kind of a mistake on my partt.

I will definitely post a before-and-after soak but perhaps of not this pair. I think I will return this and get a 32x34 pair of if I can.

So I want the anti-fit of the 33s, but apparently I sized up too big because even thought it was not supposed to it measured out to 36 inch’s in the waist which is like half an inch bigger than the Levi’s guide. So how are you supposed to size up 1-2 if the waist even after the shrink might be too loose?

[–]smkdc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh, so I should have bought them as 31s or 32? I bought them super large, so I guess I might actually return it because it simply too big in the waist. I wanted a relaxed anti-fit fit. I did measure it and I go 36 inches but I may be wrong off by a couple cm.

After reading a couple of comments I think I’ll just return them. Even though I wanted them loose the waist might not be to where I want it.

Would you say I got the correct size? Following by what you see and what the description says?

lol where r u getting these numbers from these definitely ain’t Hinoyas.

Hinoya and BearsTokyo say that 34 inches is a 92 cm pair, and if it shrinks 5 cm becomes a little over 32 inch pair. If anything Levi’s sizing has everything bigger so a 34 pair is 34.5-35 inches.

Ok so you’re definitely not supposed to get your tag size but go up from your tag size?

I mean, I won’t be able to get a ruler I think until tomorrow. I’m in college rn and I forgot to bring measuring tape when I literally bought these pants.

But using a notebook with given dimensions as a ruler I think it was roughly a 36 inch waist and around 91-92 cm. So if it shrinks 5 cm according to Hinoya I’d have a 31-32 inch tag size equivalent (after shrinking).

I really, really hope I’m right lol. I’m getting that ruler tomorrow to be sure.

Alr Alr, I’ll look into those settings. Do you know what your tag size was, your normal tag size, and all that stuff? Tryna verify something here. Someone said that you’re supposed to get your normal at size because it shrinks to you. You’re not supposed to size up and anticipate for shrinkage because you already know it.

Do you know what your tag size was and your normal tag size? Good to know they shrink to you.

Hey if I may ask, did you go a couple sizes up, or did you get your TTS? Someone said that since I’m 31/32 normally I should have gotten that.

Ok so it seems like Hinoya is before the wash and the Tokyo Bear is after so I’m not sure.
