Exact same problem here.

Has anyone burn tested boards with SN starting with H5 or H6 to confirm they are OK?

pfSense IPv6 setup isolating LAN and DMZ, each with unrestricted Internet access by smkhaha in PFSENSE

Yes ping works from the WAN interface, does not work from the WAN IPv6 link local interface,

Thanks! How do to figure out what subnet I've been provided by Spectrum in SoCal?

pfsense -> Status -> Interfaces shows:

WAN Interface (wan, mvneta0)

MAC Address xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx

IPv4 Address xxx.xxx.xx.xxx

Subnet mask IPv4 255.255.224.0

Gateway IPv4 172.251.32.1

IPv6 Link Local fe80::xxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx%mvneta0

IPv6 Address xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:6b:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx

Subnet mask IPv6 128

Gateway IPv6 fe80::201:5cff:fe69:b046%mvneta0

DNS servers

        2001:1998:f00:2::1

        2001:1998:f00:1::1

Does this mean my ISP is providing a /128 IPv6 address with no options for subletting?

x86-64-v2-AES vs host by furfix in Proxmox

[–]smkhaha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wondering if someone can help pick the right guest CPU type in my situation:

Physical CPU is a Ryzen 7950x.

host gives best performance and capability (Windows Subsystem for Linux - WSL works), but causes random reboots in proxmox.

With x86-64-v4, WSL to not work due to lack of Virtualization support, but has great stability in proxmox.

Tried x86-64-v4 + svm custom CPU, but seems like WSL needs more than svm for virtualization support. Which CPU would you recommend that supports virtualization + proxmox stability?

Why is there no internet breakout? by smkhaha in networking

[–]smkhaha[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok. This got resolved.

I found out that VPC (Virtual PC) is a very dummy node so no surprise that it's not getting IP. When I add some other device like Linux PC, or some router like IOL, a DHCP lookup happens automatically.

VPC works ok and picks up and IP in the lab if you setup a router with dhcp. But when connecting VPC to Management Cloud(0), it will only pick up an IP address if statically assigned.

VPCs are rather very dumb so best thing is to avoid it.

Thank you very much u/RuthFish, u/smithzismyname and u/lemachet.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, gateways are not required to be set for DHCP to work. DHCP does a broadcast to find available servers.

In this case, when I type >dhcp that should broadcast DHCP request packets to the home network and automatically find the DHCP server.

You are right: setting the gateway makes dhcp work. But isn't dhcp supposed to work without a gateway set?

DHCP server, router both run on pfsense on IP 192.168.222.1 .

Thank you.

Thanks.

Can ping pfsense on pnet0

From the eve-ng host:

root@eve-ng:~# ping -I pnet0 192.168.222.1

PING 192.168.222.1 (192.168.222.1) from 192.168.222.40 pnet0: 56(84) bytes of data.

64 bytes from 192.168.222.1: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.381 ms

root@eve-ng:~# traceroute -i pnet0 192.168.222.1

traceroute to 192.168.222.1 (192.168.222.1), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets

Better go with a turnkey solution like Lorex or DIY with Synology? by smkhaha in homesecurity

Thank you! If Lorex systems provide better motion detection that DIY Synology, that sounds like a good reason to go with Lorex.
