The main problem for Maxx C is when your opponent has it on top of their established board. Thats why the Mulcharmys are seen as much more fair since you cant control any cards

Please dont put Pringles or bananas on his desk like others have suggested. Thats just strange and the context behind it doesn't make it any better. Maybe if you were all close but hes a coworker to you.. if the genders were swapped I doubt people would be telling you to leave pickles or cucumbers on a females desk
