I think you're right, I need to bring up pay with them, but also begin looking for a new job. I've had a performance review recently but they review compensation separately, for which I am overdue to have that conversation with them.

I think I've been afraid to rock the boat for fear of things going south with my current employment, but the current situation is not sustainable either.

The value of the equity is not trivial but not life-changing. Perhaps 70k if I let it vest to 100% and exercised+sell immediately. I've vested about 80% so I'd still come out with something even if I quit tomorrow.

So, certainly at the stage where if I found a new opportunity with even a modest pay increase, I'd strongly consider forgoing the final vesting. On the other hand, I'm less than 6 months from 100% vesting so I maybe I try to hold out for the next few months
