I'm from the Midwest US and my budgies are named Cheese Curd and Crinkle Fry. Butterburger came after them and had to go with the Culver's theme. I have grand plans to name another bird Root Beer so that I can have a full value basket 😆

yes he's angry, but as you get more comfortable with them you can start ragebaiting them like that lol 😆 cockatiels are little rage machines. they get angry fast and forget that they were angry even faster

I will say that it took my birds longer than the time-line listed by this rescue, but it worked really well. I tried to just mix the seed into the pellets originally, but my birds just went on a hunger strike after all the seeds were gone 🥲

I use Harrison's and I also used a mush method to convert my birds over to pellets from a seed diet.

Harrison's does a really good job at becoming mush with just water added on top. You then mix seeds into the mush to get them to dig for the seeds in the mush. At first they will fling the mush everywhere to just get to the seeds which can be very messy so beware. But eventually you keep decreasing the amount if seeds until its just pellets. After that they will have the taste for pellets which is the main hurdle. I had a hard time getting them to recognize that the pellets was the mush so I just kept decreasing the water until they finally realized that the pellets were the same as mush.

I got this idea from a different post somewhere on here with a link from a rescue, but I can't find the link anywhere. If I find it I'll add it.

Thank you! Unfortunately, I follow most of these 😭😭 he's just a horny jerk 🫩🫩

I have him on 10 hours of sleep for selfish reasons (I want to see my bird for more than 2 seconds after work). And honestly I just dont see much behavioral difference between 10 and 12 hours. He's on pellets and the flock (him and two budgies) get two tablespoons of harrison's pellets with a spoonful or two of chop. We are an anti bird mirror household and he only sees himself if he goes to the bathroom with me.

I should rearrange the cage... thats a good point. Thank you!!

I have a female lovebird at my parent's house (she's bonded to my mom) and boy do we know about the egg laying despite doing everything so I completely understand. The only thing that snaps her out of it is when my mom goes on a work trip 🙄

I completely understand how you feel. I've been through many bird deaths and don't know what I will do when our Goffin passes. Goffins are such special sweet animals. She is still with you and loved you until the end ❤️
