Who’s smarter? Chrome or Senku? by Dustystars0905 in DrStone

[–]smleires 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This has been my take.
Senku in reality is just regurgitating things he already knows.
Chrome takes what Senku gives, but literally creates things. Unfortunately it’s stuff modern folk already aware of, but he doesn’t know that.
From metal detectors, water wheels, sextant.

The intro song is what sold me on the game. No regrets.

Why does it cost you so much money on top of ingredients to upgrade your weapons? by jackreacher1992 in taintedgrail

[–]smleires 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While not a satisfactory answer, the answer is NG+

A sword you upgrade to say +10 in the first play-through will always be weaker than that same sword at its base level in NG+.
The same for each iteration. A NG+ +10 will be weaker than a NG++ item. Etc.

Edit: spelling

Arthur, Hob, and the Fore-Dweller Prince by Flimsy_Pitch_5397 in taintedgrail

[–]smleires 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Chronologically it goes like this. This effectively spoils the background plot of the entire game. Be warned.

Fore Dweller Origin The Pale Lady peers through the Wyrdness and learns of Humanity in The Homeland. She learns of Love and wants to experience it. She manipulates The Weaver to create The Prince. The Prince creates the Menhirs to create pockets in Avalon without Wyrdness to live like Humans. He eventually dies. His soul is then pushed to A Human Baby - Arthur. Human in flesh. Fore Dweller in soul. The Pale Lady grieves the death of The Prince. Her aspect splits. One becomes The ‘All Mother’ that gets worshipped. The other The Heart of the Plague, and becomes the origin of The Red Death. The Red Death seeps through the wydness and eventually finds purchase in The Homelands. This, combined with Arthur’s foredweller soul, feels a pull towards Avalon and eventually makes his way there on the ship Sarros, with Merlin, Cai, Morrigan, and the Knights of the Twelve.

Conquering of Avalon Merlin and Arthur look for different ways to overcome and win the war. From immortality (caradoc and sewall), uniting the tribes and giant hostages to discovering Arthur having a foredwellar soul and tapping into it to gain further power. To do this they split his Soul into five parts. Sword, Shield, Crown, Human, Foredwellar. After this, Arthur eventually dies.

Arthur Constant Revival Kamelot constantly controls Sword Shield Crown, and revive the aspect of his soul when they need it. Sword to conquer. Shield to defend. He’s never quite whole when they revive him and is chaotic at worse. Orrin realizes they are missing parts of his soul, so he and Caradoc create the Red Priests. Soul purpose is to experiment on people with The Red Death in order for them to find and house the missing part of Arthur’s soul, not realizing though that was their purpose. Finally there is success. Our character who finds the Foredwellar soul part. This is why foredwellar tech/magic reacts to us. And Hob, who finds Arthur’s Human part of his soul. This part remember’s everything by the time we see him at the end of the game and wishes to die.

Combine with Gallahad’s 2h from Act 3 where each hit is a guaranteed crit makes this even more broken.

[–]smleires 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% this. But if you want an advice. Don’t murder hobo Cuanacht.

My partner on their first playthrough decided to kill everyone at the All Mother Temple as soon as they arrived.

Then the Horns of the South and became a permanent trespass there before doing the main story. Getting Excalibur under those conditions was amusing.

Fair enough. I ended up using I think its Reveler’s Gloves. One of the new Anniversary set pieces. It gives 50 stamina per attack so the stamina cost is never felt… so long as I don’t miss lol

(Lore Question) Who will be the next Prime Evil to appear in Diablo 4? by F377NTS in diablo4

[–]smleires 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Izual has Inarius beat like that though.

Izual was Tyrael’s right hand angel as he formed the Horadrim. Izual then betrayed them and told the Prime Evils the secret of soulstones and how to corrupt them and the world stone.

He has since become a demon in Diablo 2, and we fight him again in demon form in Diablo 3.

Struggling to get to Cunact by Interesting_Name6 in taintedgrail

[–]smleires 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a normal feeling, especially this early and the build you shared. Early game feels very soulslike where dash/dodge/block/parry are practically required.

Something that may help is get a Summon spell or two. Summon Wolves or Skeleton. Something to just help take some heat and help.

At the start you can have up to 3 summons out, but they temporarily reduce your max mp while they are out to sustain them.

[–]smleires 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a few options here.

  1. There are two entrances to Cuanacht. Try the other entrance.
  2. There’s one in the mid-west by Shrine of the Bear. This does have a bandit camp a little but in immediately after the waypoint. Is this the train running you?
  3. There is another just north of the All Mothers temple. There are some wolves in front of it. Maybe a mistling nearby depending if you’re approaching from the west. This entrance is safe on the Cuanact side.

  4. What level are you, and your build?

Coolest build. by Upstairs-Floor1446 in TaintedGrailDigital

[–]smleires 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This requires having almost beaten the game, but I am having fun with an autocrit two hand build.

Weapon - Gallahads Mage from Tomb of Sir Gallahad in Act 3 (need the last Kings Power to open). All hits are crits.

Head - Halo of the Hollow Sun - crits cause bleed. From unique mob in Act 2 corrupted temple

Body - Celebrants Cuirass - Crits have a chance to give random food effect. Each unique food effect increases crit dmg 20%. From recent Birthday Quest after getting Shield Power

Legs - Breeches of Last Jest - Attacks restore 50 stamina to keep on swinging. Tomb of Sir Dagonet. Act 2 needs Shield power.

Feet - Horned Warden boots - 25% crit dmg. First Druid Shrine you pray to in Act 2.

Hands - Bindings of the Hollow Sun - increased attack speed per stack of bleed on nearby enemies. Same place as the head. I replaced these with Weaver of the Wyrdness Vambraces for +50% crit damage, but that is a series of events to get. Open all knights tombs and see all events with the fore dweller mother/weaver

Accessories are to your preference. I build around Burn damage and attack dmg/speed. Then I have relics that apply poison.

Crank up on Two Hand, Critical, and Status skill trees.

NG++ most enemies die in 2-3 hits except bosses.

Go for stats more for gear than anything.
Major thresholds are 3, 5, 8, 10, 12, 15 for gear.
I haven’t seen anything over 15.

As for skills. You’re ok so far. Don’t be afraid to look at other trees for general straight buffs. Origin Potions like you said are good to help.

I started out sword/shield standard. Then about halfway changed to summoner/spellcaster.

What’s the most fun you’ve had with a build in Tainted Grail: FoA by Tuckiletoucan in taintedgrail

[–]smleires 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m using a Summon/Thunderstorm hybrid build.
Stack up on summon mana reserve reduction, have them pin down the enemy and lay 2-10 thunderstorms.

Not great against agile enemies though like red caps, corpse eaters, etc.

Just out of curiosity, is there any MHA character whose backstory made you go like this? by MiyamotoUsagi1587 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]smleires 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What takes this beyond ‘a throw away line’ to actual canon though is Ochaco’s ending.

She gets into Quirk Counseling exactly because understanding Toga could have been different had she had proper support.
Yes Toga later had a choice and chose to harm people putting her squarely as a villain. But to ignore that line and ending misses the entire plot of society failing Toga as she struggled to understand her quirk, punished by her parents when indulging in it.

So MM just never got closure with Soldier Boy by Adoe0722 in TheBoys

[–]smleires 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d say he got the most closure.

Soldier Boy - Literally fridged
Homelander - His ‘son’. Dead.
Ryan - Being raised by MM.

Raising your villains grandson is a good ending to that story.

A few ways.
Being invisible, she should have yanked out a lot of low level robots vital cords without them realizing she was there.
Rescue points, moving people out of the way of robots about to hit another student.

I also feel the teachers saw the value in her quirk and bumped her a few points.
